His Blessing

Juliet scanned through her Social Media, scanning through the posts about the band. They started their tour a month ago, she hadn't contacted Zachary since. He texted her a few times, but she ignored them, needing to wrap her head around what the hell was going on. Instead of worrying about men she focused on her career. She decided to stop the freelance business, merely because she wasn't seeing eye to eye with the people she worked with. She didn't like to spice things up, exaggerate things only to sell more magazines. So she decided to focus on her own writing and started a blog. It was doing okay, not well yet but she knew she just needed to really focus on it.

"Are you seriously not going to answer your goddamn phone!" Chloe tossed the device in front of her, pointing angrily on it, "What did that boy ever do to you other than screwing your brains out and showing you a good time? It's not his fault Dustin has mood swings."

"I met him because of Dustin." Juliet explained, "If the rockstar doesn't like me being with his guitarist I should respect his wishes."

"Do you really know if the rockstar doesn't like you two together? Have you talked to him, I mean really talked to him and not gave him orders or insulted him?"

She hadn't. Ever since they met it had been either hot or cold. The rockstar definitely had mood swings, but she had them too. Sighing she leaned back in her chair and grabbed her phone, ignoring the call once again.

"I'll talk to Dustin first. Then I'll decide what to do with Zachary."

Chloe scoffed, "Only you have rockstar problems. Here I am worrying if I should go on a diet to fit in my wedding dress, but then I'm too scared to lose too much weight."

"I thought you didn't have to lose weight, that the dress is perfect right now."

"It is. But I need to be careful about what I eat. I don't want to suddenly not fit into my dress anymore."

Juliet leaned forward again and reassuringly tapped her friend on the arm, "Honey, you'll be fine. If you don't want to do this on your own I'll do the diet thing with you. It means I have to stop drinking so much coffee and probably switch to green tea, but I'm okay with that."

Chloe smiled, "You're such a nuisance sometimes, you know that?" Something in her friend's eyes changed, "Maybe that's why Dustin and you clash. Because you two are too much alike."

"I'm nothing like him!" Juliet told her friend firmly.

Chloe raised an eyebrow, surprised by her sudden outburst. It just upset her when Dustin told her they were alike. She liked to think she didn't toy around with people and not give a fuck, but then her current behavior didn't do her any favors. She was toying around with Zachary. Sighing once again she reached for her phone and texted Dustin, letting him know they needed to talk.

"Maybe we have a few things in common."

"Wow." Chloe whispered, "Never thought I'd see the day that you'd actually admit you have flaws."

Juliet reached for her pen and tossed it to her friend who easily caught it, "Bite me."

Chloe smirked, "Sorry, don't swing that way."

All the hostility left Juliet's body as Chloe made a joke she usually made. She knew her friend was only cheering her up. Instead of talking about her boy trouble she focused on what she actually came to do. Discuss the wedding with Chloe and help her with whatever she needed. Even if it meant going on a freaking diet.

Juliet sat down on her couch, a wine glass in hand while she resumed the movie she chose for the night. It was a romantic comedy, something light to keep her mind of the men in her life. The movie started cheerfully, putting her in a good mood when her phone rang. Her heart raced when she glanced at the device sitting on the coffee table in front of her. The display told her it was Dustin, calling her because she texted him they needed to talk. He was more reliable than she gave him credit for. Like Chloe mentioned earlier that day, they were more alike than she liked to admit. It was the harsh truth.
