He turns around to face a confused, startled Maurinette.
He chuckles nervously "I came to check on you, I didn't mean to wake you up"
"Well you did, could you stay longer" she stares at him innocently. he sighs, pulling a chair besides the bed and he sits on it, looking at her straight in the eye.
"I have never seen you look so casual" she blurts out before registering what she had said, she mentally kicks herself and he chuckles
"I don't have to look so formal all the time, do I? "
"No" she couldn't help but admire how his shirt hugged his chest like a second skin, showing the outlines of his firm body.
"Maurinette"
"Mmmm" she answers, subconsciously, still staring at his body
"Do you want to know anything about me? you can always ask me"
His question sets her off before she returns back to reality
"Ummm, yes. Your wife, the queen" she blurts out, mentally kicking herself again, she couldn't help but feel that she was prying.
He smiles, she sighs gently. 'His smile could stop breathes and even make fishes forget how to swim' she thought as she stare at him, dreamily
He laughs loudly when he hears her clearly.
Her face turns red, she looks away, embarrassed but she couldn't help but notice that this was the first time he had laughed sincerely, his laugh was amazing. She could wake up everyday just to hear him laugh
"My wife is dead" he says with calmness, she couldn't decipher his facial expression, he was completely unpredictable, she couldn't understand him.
"I---I---am sorry" she stammers"You don't need to apologize, she wasn't exactly the loving wife you think" he rakes his hand through his blonde hair, surprised at himself for telling her this. It was really personal and not many people know even if they tried to find out but here he was, telling her.
"Oooh. Am sorry"
"Maurinette" he says in a strict tone "stop apologizing" he stares at her, her green eyes captures his attention, he moves closer, leaning out of the chair.
She could feel his body close to her, shock waves run through her body, she was on fire. She felt like passing out and he hadn't even touched her
'i am so pathetic' she closes her tightly
"You aren't pathetic Maurinette" she opens her eyes, her face reddens.
"Do you always have to do that" she turns away shyly
"I can't understand you, I want to get to know you. You are different from every other woman I had met and that is the only I can know you more"
The large room suddenly felt so small, she had that feeling again, like they were the only ones but now, that was true. He was dangerously close to her, his eyes roam around her body and the feeling of insecurity creeps into her, she holds the blanket closer to her body. He notices how uncomfortable she is and he leans away, she sighs in relief and regret, she wanted him to stay close to her but she was also scared of him
'so sick of this. Pick one, damn it, do you want him close to you or away' she battles with her mind and he stares at her, entertained.
He decides to save her from maybe having a fist fight with her mind "would you do me the honor of having breakfast with me" he smiles, he knew she couldn't resist his charm but he was also scared she just might, she was so unpredictable.
"Ummm----yes" she tucks her loose strand of hair behind her ear
"Get some sleep" he stands up and bends over her, planting a kiss on her fore head. The whole world stops, her eyes widen and her cheeks turn to a very bright shade of red. Even though he could read her mind, he had no idea the effect his touch had on her. She closes her eyes tightly, trying to replay everything. She felt light headed, when she opens her eyes, she finds no one.Rogan lay on the floor, his pulse growing weak, he couldn't move, a pool of his own blood surrounding him.
A dark figure stands before him, he could not defend himself, he thought the vampire had come to finish him off, suddenly the pain disappears. He gasps as he feels the strength return to him.
He sits up slowly, looking up to the stranger, the person had covered himself with a black cloak and Rogan couldn't see his face, the person steps back
"Wait" Rogan calls out, who are you. why did you help me?"
The person stops but doesn't turn around "this is not your time to die Rogan, you have a big role to play in saving us all" with that the person disappears into the darkness, he knew nothing about the stranger, what it was, it had no smell but he knew just one thing. It was a woman
