"A tour of capital hill" Matty scoffed in a way that only he could make sound less offensive.
"He's a politician, that's fun to him" I giggled reaching for his arm. "Thank you"
" Next year we do Christmas in London and everyone gets a tour of a church, that's it" he shrugged then looked at me and laughed. "Don't thank me Abigail"
"This is nice" I smiled and I wanted it to feel nice but there was this awful pit in my stomach.
He rolled his eyes then turned his head toward his window and stared in awe at the mansion before us. It was a big house, not like Hollywood hills big but big enough that both of us just looked at it in all it's glory. Isis did good.
"I am not surprised at all that this is where Isis lives" Matty chuckled as the car stopped in front of their door and out came the iconic duo.
Winter in Washington was no different from winter in London so when Isis came out in a fur throw around here and pajama pants on I laughed a little as I raced out the car to great her and her soon to be husband.
"Welcome!" Hector cheered, he was in a pair of polo pajamas that Matty owned but never wore. "I hope your flight was better than that drive"
"Equally awful" Matty joked as he approached Hector. "Nice to finally meet you mate"
"And you, it's so great to put a face to the name" Hector chuckled then they bro hugged as Isis and I embraced each other with open arms. It felt good to be back home. "Abby you don't mind if I steal him?"
"By all means" I shrugged then winked at Matty before Hector dragged him inside the house.
"Come let me show you my home!" Isis giggled delighted as she held my hand. "Don't worry about the bags"
"Oh okay" I nervously laughed then followed her in.
The inside was more breath taking then the outside. It smelled like cookies were baking despite the time it was and it was warm but not too warm that you choked on the heat. I was only in the foyer but as she started her grand tour I fell in love. Her ceilings were high enough for her to have the most massive tree I've seen in her living room.
She had two dining rooms, one for diplomacy and the other for family, her words. Her kitchen was just remodeled and was so urban and chic with all new appliances. They had a study which I found Matty in, oddly enough the first drink in his hand at this time was scotch though I didn't comment just followed Isis through.
The house was owned by a former president though she couldn't tell which one. There were seven bedrooms and five bathrooms with a study, theater and pool outside. She told me that one of the seven bedrooms would end up being her office since soon enough she would be returning to Capitol Hill. Mine and Matty's room were right down the hall from her and hectors massive master suite.
Since she had a massive family with lots of nieces and nephews the big house seemed perfect however this Christmas she said she only allowed a few of her brothers to stay with her since she couldn't fathom the idea of having so many people in her house. I joked about being proud of make the cut and she rolled her eyes.
When the tour was over we found ourselves in the kitchen, despite my pleas to take Isis and Hector out to breakfast she protested and assured me all her cooking classes had paid off and she was going to kill it at making breakfast. So I just sat on a bar stool to keep her company and watch as she didn't kill it.
"Were definitely getting married in the spring" Isis nodded her head. "Of course you're going to be my maid of honor"
"What a nice way to ask" I said sarcastically but as per usual Isis beat me to it because as the words left my mouth she pulled the prettiest bag from under the counter. "Isis"
