Rebecca smiled at her reflection in the mirror, happy with the work she's done. She was proud for achieving such a look without Davina bossing her around, or forcing her to wear something short, which she did. She picked a sun dress, and a pair of flats for the double blind date. It was simple, yet cute. A colorful sun dress can always pop up the beauty of a body's curves.
She applied light make-up, and put her hair in a loose braid. Let's just say that she managed to look decent.
To say she was excite is an understatement. She was really looking forward for this date. She was eager to know who her date would be. She kept asking Davina about the boys' names, but all she told her was that they were college boys.
She heard a honking outside her house, and knew that Davina was here to pick her up. She grabbed her phone, and rushed down stairs. She slammed the door to her house, and made her way to her friend's car. She glanced a look towards the Campbells front yard, and truly wished she didn't. Her eyes locked with a pair of icy blue ones, and they seemed to freeze her body with the all the coldness they had within them. She broke eye contact, and got in the car,and pushing that boy out of her head.
He was a jerk, and she knew that. He was a Collins after all.
"- Well you look hot !" Davina complemented, as she started the engine and drove off.
"- Thanks dear, you do too."
"- Don't I always ?" Davina said with pure confidence with a devilish grin on her face. She looked like an angel, but there no saints in the land of demons. She was a devil in disguise.
She was hell on heels.
"- Aren't you telling me who the boys are ?"
"- I told you ! You don't know them, they are college boys." Rebecca gave her a concerned look, and darted her gaze outside the window.
"-C'mon Rebecca, loosen up ! It'll be fun !"
•••
"- You look gorgeous !" one of the boys complimanted when both Davina and Rebecca joined them at the small booth by the window. Davina flushed him her best smile, and allowed him to put a kiss on her cheek. While Rebecca just smiled at them. She wasn't comfortable around new people. It always took her time to get familiar with them.
"- Darling, this is Dylan, and this is his friend-." Davina waited for the other one to introduce himself. To say he was hot would be an understatment.
"-Aiden. Aiden James." He finally spoke, his voice was gentel, and his smile was flawless. He was neat in general.
"- Shall we ?" One of them -Dylan- asked, and they all took in the menus and deciding what to order.
"-Do you live here ?" She nervously played with her fingers. "-Oh, silly me ! Of course you do ! What I meant is that I've never seen you around. How come I've never noticed you before, I mean look at you, you're hot !" She said pointing at the blonde guy. She cursed herself for being too honest with Aiden.
It was true though. He was hot. His greek god body, and golden blonde hair, and the gorgeous blue eyes would do more than make a girl loose her words. He was perfect. He was the guy you would die for. His guffaws echoed in the large room, causing their friends and the strangers to search for the source of the loud bursts of laughter.
"- You are as well, if I may say so myself." He complemented back, making her cheeks fire with heat, and turn into a light shade of red.
"-So, what are you majoring in ?" She tried to break the ice, and avoid the earlier conversation they were having. Otherwise she would not stop blushing, and turning into a tomato.
"- Business. My dad wants me to take over the family company after I get my diploma."
"- So it was your dad's choice ?" She dared to ask. If movies taught her anything, it was that these charming boy with the perfect life were always under presure and struggling to make their own choices, and not follow the pathes their old men were picking for them.
He innocently smiled at her, and shook his head. "- No. I am very happy with the choice I've made." To be honest, she was surprised. She always thought that boys don't like to follow their parents steps, and start a life based on the choices they make. "- Who would take care of the business anyway ? I know my brother wouldn't."
He has a brother ? Is he as hot as he is ? Do they all have that overly kind gene ? Rebecca though to herself.
"- They youngest tend to be stuborn. I'm sure he wants to build a life based on his choices. Not that you didn't. What I meant is that the young never submit. And now I'm just ranting like a dork !" She honestly said, making him chuckle again.
She was glad one of them was amused by her clumsiness.
He was about to say something, but was cut of by a squaling voice. "- Rebecca, dear, you wouldn't mind if Dylan and I went for a walk right ? I'm sure that can Aiden you a ride home. Isn't that true Aiden ?" He just nodded, and smiled a flawless smile. Davina didn't wait for her friend to approve -probably because she knew she wouldn't- and walked away, leaving a very lost Rebecca with a very good looking Aiden.
"- Wanna get out of here ?" She smiled shyly, bringing out her dimples, and nodded. She's been waiting to leave this dinner since she got there. Grabbing her jacket, she followed Aiden out to his car. Sinking into her seat, Rebecca kept glancing looks towards the man sitting beside her, as the car drove away from the fancy avenues of Havenwood. She kept silente for she had nothing to tell him. He was a stranger. What was there to talk about ?
She couldn't say much about him. She barely knew him -almost didn't at all-, but there was a vibe coming out of his body, that made her like him. He made her feel comfortable.
He, too, didn't try and engage in any kind of convertations, he would just sneak a peek once in a while, when he was sure that she wasn't looking his way. Rebekah looked out the window, it was becoming to get dark, as the city started vanishing into vaper. Aiden stopped the car, and stepped out of the car, she followed him out, compltly confused.
The car was on a dusty dark cliff, and the city lights were far away in the night sky. It was a dark and cloudless ocean of midnight blues and twinkling whites and yellows. There was a thousand stars. She felt so small comparing to all her surroundings. She never took a minute to appriciate how beautiful their city looked from above. But now that she's done that, she doesn't even want to take her eyes off of it.
"- I always come here to relax." She slowly turned to face him, but he was too dazed, looking at the beautiful sky. The calmness of his voice made her relax, and loose that anxious feeling. He turned around to study her feature, and contemplate the beautiful brunette that was next to him.
He let his eyes dart to her lips and it made her shift in uneasiness. The breeze brushed her face, sending chills all over her body. It was so quiet she could sense the wind passing by, rushing through her dark locks. It was so peaceful when she was miles away from the city, and that made her feel calm and kind of safe.
Few mixed emotions went through her body when she felt Aiden's body only few steps away from hers. His presence was warm and conforting, but she couldn't help but feel uneasy as he took another slow step towards her.
"- You really are something Rebecca."
