Scarlett sighed tiredly before looking around her apartment.

It was empty, completely empty.

All of her belongings were being taken to her, or rather she should say, their new home. She was excited to say the least, but she also felt heartbroken, leaving a place she had come to love behind.

"Hey Scarls you ready?" Asked Chris Evans snapping her out of her thoughts. She turned to him and smiled.

"Yes. I think." She paused before taking one last look around. "We should get going. Margo is probably going to give out to me about being late." She replied.

Chris studied her face slightly before looking back at her eyes.

"You don't want to leave do you?" He asked with concern. She mentally cursed herself for making it too obvious.

"What makes you say that?" She asked, Chris arched a brow before tilting his head to the side slightly.

"Scarls I know you, something is beating you up inside. It is because you're moving back to California?" He asked.

Scarlett didn't dare to look back at him in the eyes. It wouldn't be a problem if she was moving to any other state, but the fact that Ryan lived there with his new fiancé, made her question why she even agreed to live with her friends there. She was over Ryan, completely, she knew this because she loved someone else dearly. However for some reason she felt as though she needed some kind of approval. That maybe the reason he left her was because she wasn't good enough, in some twisted way she wasn't perfect to him.

"What if I see him again?" She paused before taking a breath. "What if all this work to get him out of my mind doesn't work and I just break down again? What if...I-I'm not strong enough, or good enough?" She asked as tears brimmed her eyes.

Chris responded quickly to this by engulfing her in a hug. Seeing her cry because of him upset Chris on a whole other level. He cared about Scarlett , he loved Scarlett. Chris pulled her tightly against his chest before he spoke.

"Scarlett don't you ever ever doubt your self worth. You are beautiful Scarls, you're the epitome of perfection. Don't you ever forget that. You don't need to prove anything to anyone because you are already amazing," he paused.

"The fact that he couldn't see that the most incredible woman ever was in front of him, shows how worthless of a person he is for not seeing your worth."

Scarlett paused for a moment and listened for the sound that comforted her. His heartbeat. Chris continued to speak but his heartbeat filtered his voice out.

For so long she believed that something was wrong with who she was, Chris's last statement stuck with her the most. Ryan couldn't see what was in front of him the whole time, he couldn't see that she was perfect in her own way. Yet he ignored that and he hurt her, broke her. He left her wondering what she did wrong, what she could have done.

But it wasn't her.

He didn't care that he hurt her. He didn't care when she found out, because he did it so publicly. Ryan missed the greatest person in his life because he refused to see her as she was, instead he chose to pick out all of her faults and use them against her.

But Chris wasn't like that, Chris saw her as she was and loved her. The smallest faults she had, he brushed them off. He didn't focus on those parts of her, because they didn't define her.

She was obvious to what was in front of her.

She wanted so bad for Ryan's sign of approval, that she brushed of Chris's comment. 'That she was already perfect.'

Scarlett looked up at Chris who was already looking back at her before she placed a hand on his chest.

Her breathing hitched as a result of the closeness between them.

"Chris," she breathed. "Thank you...for everything, you don't understand how much you have really helped me understand something. You make me so happy Chris. You make me feel worth so much more." She said before receiving a warm smile from him.

"Because you are worth so much more. You make me happy too." He replied.

Scarlett smiled genuinely and without skipping a beat, Chris cupped her cheek with his hand before using it to tilt her chin up to him.

Scarlett felt his heartbeat quicken.

"You don't realize how long I've wanted to do this," Chris whispered before leaning in closer to kiss her.

Their lips barley brushed against each other before a knock on the door interrupted them causing them to detach themselves from each other.

"Yes?" Scarlett called.

"Hey Scarls you done yet? Our flight is in a little over an hour, we should get there fast," came Margot's voice from the other side of the door.

"Yes ok! I'll be right out."

"Yeah you better be right out. I'll be waiting downstairs with the girls when you're ready."

Scarlett let out an annoyed sigh before turning back to Chris.

"Scarlett it's ok, you're not going to want to miss your flight," Chris responded.

Scarlett smiled sadly at the disappointment in his voice.

"We'll finish this later," she winked before placing a kiss on his cheek and rushing out.

"I'll take your word for it," he mumbled quietly.
