"She's fallen too far; the girl that time forgot."
Quick Author's Note: Please Read - As you may have noticed, at the beginning of each chapter, there is a little saying, like the one featured above. The thing is, these aren't quotes, but rather song lyrics by Hellberg and Cozi Zuehlsdorff. Please listen to the song, which is up above for you and think back to the story, you'll see how well it goes along with the story plot! Thank you for reading this little piece of info that hopefully answers your question, now enough of my talking, and lets get reading!😁

"I love you, Adeline."
My heart skips a beat as the feeling of euphoria washes over my emotions. I cup his face with my hands, and stare intently up at him, his midnight blue eyes twinkling under the dimly lit hallway light. And without thinking, I open my mouth.
"I love you too, Cole," saying this, makes another cage of butterflies open. I don't regret saying this, not one bit. A smile takes over his lips as he closes the space between us, pecking my lips gently. He pulls away and rests his forehead against mine, his every breath fanning across my face.
We stay like this, for who knows how long, but I don't care, as long as he's with me, my life is complete.

I wake up with an arm draped around my waist, as a sweet aroma crowds over my senses. I turn to see Cole's sleeping figure, looking vulnerable. I readjust my body so now I'm facing him, I place a lingering kiss on his cheek and his eyes slowly flutter open.
"Good morning," I say, quietly.
"Morning," He breathes.
"If you let me go, I can go make us some breakfast," I say in a suggestive tone.
"Fine," he says, reluctantly lifting his arm off my waist as I stand on my feet. Cole faces the other way, away from me as he falls back asleep. My eyes flicker around the room again, the room that was mine, the dark turquoise walls empty of all photos. My desk is set up directly opposite of my queen sized bed. Matching turquoise curtains hang from a sterling silver bar pinned up on the edge of my window; they free fall down, almost looking like a waterfall cascading. Rays of sunlight make their way through the cracks in the drawer blinds.
An idea suddenly comes to mind from out of nowhere. I stride over to the window, and take a firm grip on the strings of the blinds and tug them down, the blinds instantly going up and the blinding sun shines right in Cole's face.
He grunts and covers his face while turning the other way again and I internally laugh to myself.
"Get up and shower, we have to go grocery shopping today!" I shout while heading out the door and down the stairs, I hear him groan in response which just causes me to roll my eyes. I stride to the kitchen, and skim though the fridge. Ms. Spencer was nice enough to lend us some of her food goods from her fridge and pantry, and she also gave us grocery money even though I refused to take it, she insisted on it being used...so I reluctantly took it.
Now being back home means finding a good paying job, so I don't have to depend on Cole and Ms. Spencer for everything, because I hate the feeling of taking their money, I always feel guilty. I take out the milk carton and set it out on the counter along with two glass cups. I remember these cups being my mother's favorite, for they were her mother's before. The memory makes me smile.
I turn back to the fridge, and take out the eggs, setting on the counter as I search around for a pan. My mom never let me go into the kitchen because she was afraid of me burning myself, so I really don't know where anything is.
Finally, I find the pan I've been looking for and place it over the burner, turning it to high as I grab one tablespoon of butter, placing it in the pan for it to melt, all the while cracking and whisking eggs in a bowl. I pour the contents into the pan, occasionally stirring, just then I hear footsteps coming down the stairs.
Cole comes around the corner and comes into the kitchen. He searches the cabinets for two plates and finally finds them, placing them next to the stove. The scrambled eggs are finally done, so I place them carefully onto the plates.
Cole takes them both and sets them down on the table. We both take our seats and quietly start eating, until I break the comfortable silence.
"Sorry, It's not much, but it's what we had...we need to go shopping like I said earlier today," I say.
"Okay, after this we'll go, does that sound good?" He questions and I nod my head, resuming on eating.
Within minutes, my plate is completely cleared and Cole takes both of our plates.
"You're such a gentleman," I tease as he flashes me a smirk.
"Tell me something I don't know."
