Jungkook's Perspective

~~~
My eyes opened quickly as the first ring of my alarm went off. The alarm was silenced halfway through the second ring.
6:45 am. I wake up, I take a cold shower, I get dressed. All in silence.
7:00 breakfast with dad and whichever 'girlfriend' he had chosen as his lap dog for the day. It was Carol today. A small Indian woman. She wasn't to bad and at least she was fully clothed today not draped over my dad like a bitch in heat.
"Jungkook, how was school yesterday?" My father spoke almost in a tone that sounded more obligated to ask rather than actually curious.
"Fine." I said as I bit into the scrambled eggs I had poured maple syrup over.
My dad was a entrepreneurs in the simplest sense. His company helped women over the age of eighteen develop skills that help with marriage and raising children. Though most of the time it really worked like a sugar daddy company. My father helped to "train" them for clients.
It's a big fancy way to basically legalize prostitution.
"How about your teachers. Do you like them?" He said again after a few minutes passed.
"Yeah they're fine. School should be easy enough." I say in a tone matching his.
We sat in silence for another stretch of time.
"Any prospect on friends?" I stood up and walked over to my dad as he said this.
"Yeah. I'm going to meet one before school" I said as I have him a hug.
This is how you continue a healthy relationship with someone.
I slipped on my shoes, grabbed my bag and headed to school. With a farewell to the both of them.
Though I don't feel anything for my dad and he nothing for me, this pattern, these human actions keep us sane and comfortable with each other. It was like an acting warm up to prepare myself to act in front of society.
I walked into the school and noticed a head of black hair with earbud cords framing it. Min Yoongi. I started to follow him, conversation starters running through my head when someone hooked their arm through mine.
"Hey Jungkook. " Spoke a female voice, and I looked towards the source.
She was tall, but still shorter than me with red brown curly hair. Blue eyes dramatically lined in black with grey lids.
"Hey. Sorry but I'm kinda bad with names.... "
"It's Kristen. " she said as she pulled me to the side of the hallway to continue. For a second I thought of pushing away from her and trying to find Yoongi but thought better of it.
"Oh, English, right? "
"Yeah," she nodded as she spoke. The curls framing her head bouncing with the nod, " I had a question if you didn't mind..."
"Go ahead. Ask away" I smiled slightly with the words.
"Um... So next month is the fall formal and I was wondering if you would like to go with me." She stated her eyes never loosing contact with mine. She was confidant and could probably get any guy in the school of she put her mind to it.
But the question made me start to laugh. Then as I processed it again in my head I started cackling. Drawing a little attention from other people around us.
"I'm sorry honey, but I am super fucking gay. Plus, I don't dance so my answer will have to be a no." I smirked at the look of shock on her face and the others around us close enough to hear. I think one guy actually but his lip.
"Oh uh, " she looked up at me and squinted as she patted my chest and straightened out a few wrinkles, "well best wishes to you in the future I hope that works out. I'll go process this public humiliation elsewhere. "
As she walked away the bell rang and I started to walk to class in the noise filled sea of students heading to first period.
