I finally placed the ring back in its box, and threw the promise.
I thank you.
For making me stronger.
For opening my eyes, teaching me not to follow peoples words.
Showing me how badly someone can be influenced and change in a matter of seconds.
You showed me so much.
I thank you.
I'm glad you found someone exactly like you.
Our back stories were too different.
For you to love me was impossible.
You were too weak to handle what the world gives to others.
You lived in comfort all your life.
To see my life, was a shock to you. You didn't believe things like that happened.
But they do.
And I showed you.
But I was wrong for that.
To show you the cruel world when you were living in such happiness.
My life drained yours.
But, like always. The negativity never seems to stop that smile of yours.
It's still as big as I remember.
Yeah it has changed, because I know you remember small bits.
Even if you don't want to.
But you still push it back to maintain that smile.
I think that's why I loved you so dearly. You shined brightly in my dark world.
So I thank you.
For everything.
From your bright smiles, to the life lessons.
For pushing my emotions this far.
Writing this book.
I thank you.
Because if it wasn't for you, treating me the way you did after our relationship, I probably wouldn't be loving myself the way I am.
I probably wouldn't be so glad with my new changes that I finally felt so right doing.
I thank you.
I truly do.
