"hey millie!" i heard someone yell. i immediately recognized the voice. i shut my locker door and turned around to see finn and a girl that i didn't recognize walking towards me. my heart sank when i noticed they were holding hands.
"h-hi finn." i replied.
"millie, this is sophia." he stated. sophia reached out to shake my hand, but i quickly slipped my hands into my pockets.
"it's nice to meet you millie." the short haired girl said with a smile.
"yeah. i guess." i replied. i felt like i was going to be sick. i had only known sophia for a couple minutes and i already knew that i hated her. i especially hated that she was such good friends with finn.
"well, i should probably be getting to class. bye guys." sophia stated. she waved to us as she walked away.
"is that your girlfriend?" i asked finn. i didn't even know what i was saying, it just kind of came out.
"of course not. we're just friends." he answered with a chuckle.
"so, what do you want t-"
"she's pretty." i said, cutting him off.
"yeah, i guess." he replied
"you two would make a cute couple." i added.
"what the hell are you trying to say?" he asked worryingly.
"finn, i-i love you and i don't wanna lose you to that bitch." i replied. i didn't mean to call sophia a bitch. everything i said just came out as word vomit.
he took a step closer to me and pulled me into a tight hug.
"i love you too." he stated as he rubbed my back.
"why h-haven't you asked me to be your girlfriend?" i questioned.
"i wanted to ask you, but i just didn't know how." he answered.
he pulled out of the hug and looked directly into my eyes.
"so, do you want to be my girlfriend?" he asked. i nodded.
"i'd like that."
