I followed Nicole out of the bathroom and back to the table only to see Cole's eyes beginning to close, "tired?"
"Yes, I think I want to go home..." he said in a yawn of tiredness.
"I'll call a taxi." Nicole began helping Cole up out of his seat.
The ride home was as bad as the ride there, even worse. Nicole sat in between me and Cole making sure I had no interaction with him. She wasn't the only one giving evil looks, I gave her just as many as she gave me.
Cole and his, fake of a girlfriend, walked inside holding hands and throwing there belongings on the ground. "Good night!" I called out as they both walked into Cole's room. Again, no reply, but I got the hunch Nicole was staying the night. I unzipped the zip on my skirt and threw on a pair of trousers and Calvin Klien underwear. I layed down in the familiar guest bedroom I had been sleeping in and threw the white sheets over myself. I fell asleep to the sound of the TV coming from in Cole's bedroom as Nicole laughed at what I thought was nothing.
Next morning I walked out of my room to the smell of pancakes cooking and the sound of batter sizzling in the fry pan. "Good morning Alex," I rolled my eyes at the nickname Nicole gave me.
"Don't call me Alex, even Cole doesn't have a nickname for me..." I gave her a smug of a look.
"Oh sorry...pancakes?" Her fake smile and angel voice was back to haunt me again.
"Ok drop the act, are you forgetting about our little convo in the bathroom last night!?" I raised the tone in my voice as I had, had enough of the brat she was. "Why are you here, why are you dating Cole!?" My voice was raised even higher, hoping Cole would hear, so I could expose Nicole for who she was.
She turned to me leaving the pancakes to burn as the dark shadow fell upon half her face, "I'm here for the money, the fame, everything Cole has to offer!"
"So I guess he's dating a two-faced lyer again?.." I gave myself the tittle.
"I guess I am..." Nicole and I both turned to see Cole at the end of the hallway. We all stood in a circle of silence, switching our eyes from one another. I placed my eyes on Cole who was trying hard to stop the anger from flowing out of him. I grabbed my keys off the bench and headed for the door, while grinning a little knowing Cole had just witnessed Nicole's real side.
I drove peddle to the meddle to a small cafe down the street. Different thoughts ran through my head as I stopped at stop light after stop light.
After the waiter placed my hot cuppuccino infront of me, I stared out the glass windows as couples holding hands walked by. I put myself in their shoes replacing the guy with Cole and the girl with myself. I stared into Cole's eyes as we walked down a pathway hand in hand. A familiar voice snapped me back to reality, "Alexia!?"
"Mia!"
"I haven't seen you since the last day of school! How long ago was that?" Mia had, had a major glo up. Her hair had been grown out and straightened with a pair of skinny jeans, white singlet and a denim jacket thrown on top.
"That was a while ago, you look amazing oh my god!"
"Thankyou Alexia, so what are you doing here on this lovely morning?"
"Well I've come to drink away my problems with a warm coffee."
"What problems? Fill me in on all!" The expression on Mia's face after letting her know everything was unexplainable, she seemed pretty confused for a smart girl like her. "Wow so now what?"
"Well I don't exactly know if that feeling flows both ways between us..."
"Ask him."
"I can't just 'ask him' Mia.."
"Yes you really can. That's what I did and look at me now!"
"You have a boyfriend!" Wow Mia really had changed, "I guess I could."
