Chapter 19~news spreads fast

Rosie's POV

January 5th 2015

School starts again today and I really don't wanna go in. The last thing I wanna do is talk to Luke and I won't even have Matt by my side.

From Jake-

Wanna meet at the gates? X

To Jake-

Yes please X

He must have guessed I would be worried about today so thankfully gave me that offer. Once I was finally ready I took a deep breath before grabbing my stuff and walking down stairs. I decided to walk to school as it was only ten minutes. When I finally arrived I saw Jake waiting for me at the gates.

"Hey" I said making him look up from his phone.

"Hey, you ready?" He asked. I nodded.

"Just please keep Luke away from me, I really don't wanna be dealing with him right now" I said. He shook his head.

"I won't let him bother you at all" he assured me. I thanked him and we walked to my locker first.

"So matts in Virginia tomorrow" he said happily. I smiled brightly.

"Yeah I can't wait to see him again" I said.

"His magcon schedule worked out well for times he comes back home as its dotted around pretty well this time huh?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah it's been good" I agreed. After I got everything I needed, we went to Jakes locker. He got what he needed and he walked with my to my home room as we weren't in the same one.

"I'll see you at break okay?" He told me. I nodded and thanked him after saying goodbye.

"Rosie!" Lucy called once I walked into home room. I smiled and rushed over to the seat next to her.

"Hey" I said.

"Hey, warning you now, Luke's gonna try to talk to you today" she said. I rolled my eyes and groaned.

"Ugh does he have to?"

"He feels pretty bad" she said.

"So he should, he could've hurt the hell outta me. Look at my wrists" I said holding both hands up. She gasped once she saw a faded blue colour around them.

"He did that?" She asked shocked.

"Yeah from squeezing my wrists so tight. They were worse when I woke up the next morning but are only just starting to go down now, thank god." I explained.

"Everyone's talking about what happened as well" she said.

"Really?" I asked. She nodded.

"It was quite a scene made that night, everyone's not shut up about it" she chuckled.

"This is just great" I muttered. Home room ended quite quickly and I found myself saying goodbye to Lucy and walking to my music class.

"Rosie!" The familiar voice I was dreading called from behind me.

"Shit" I whispered to myself, starting to pick up my walking pace. I heard his feet getting closer so I turned quickly into the girls bathroom which was luckily beside me as I walking past. I let out a breathe I didn't realise I was holding when I got inside.

Looks like I'm just gonna have to be late to my first class.

To Jake~
In the girls bathroom, Luke was calling me I panicked. Idk what to do!

I sent the text and waited for his response which was literally about thirty seconds.

From Jake~
I'm On my way

"Dude leave." I heard jakes voice from outside.

"What are you talking about?" Luke asked. He was waiting for me? Thank god I texted Jake then.

"She's not gonna come out until you go so just give up already" Jake said.

"Bro I need to talk to her" he begged.

"You can't, she doesn't want to talk to you right now so just go!" He said frustrated. I couldn't wait in the bathroom much longer so I opened the door, catching both of their attention, shutting them up.

"Jake let's go" I said walking towards him.

"Rosie let me talk to you" Luke said grabbing my wrist gently. I jumped at his touch and panicked. My hand snatched away from his. He stared at me wide eyed.

"What the- Rosie why'd you do that?" He asked hurt.

"I could ask you the same thing" I spat, tears threatening to spill due to how scared I felt right now.

"What do you mean?" He asked. I held up my bruised wrists, clear for him to see. He looked shocked.

"Rosie, I'm so sorry" he said slowly.

"Yeah well, we all make mistakes. If you don't mind, I've got a class to get to now" I said barely above a whisper as I kept my gaze to the ground. From the corner of my eye I could see him nod and Jake gave me a gentle nudge to start walking.

"You did good there, brave." He told me once we turned the corner.

"Thanks" I said letting out a breathe.

"I'll see you at lunch" he said when we reached my music class. I said goodbye to him and walked inside the class.

"Ms gray, you're late" my teacher stated.

"Yeah I know, I'm sorry Mrs White, it won't happen again" I told her timidly. She nodded and gestured me to sit down with the rest of the group.

"Hey" some girl beside me said. I looked at her weirdly.

"Hi?" I recognised her, Macy Powell, the schools popular girl.

"I heard about you and Luke" she stated. I rolled my eyes.

"What about it?" I asked fed up.

"What kind of idiot rejects a hot guy like him?! You're stupid" she told me.

"Noted, are we done now?" I asked unenthusiastically. She glared at me and turned back to the front.

"She's not wrong" a girl behind me said.

"Whatever" I muttered. Is this what I have to deal with now? Girls who like Luke constantly being on my case?

Lunch

I opened the door to the cafeteria and walked inside. I walked to the lunch queue but whilst I was walking I could feel people staring. A lot of people. And I had a pretty good reason as to why. The whole Luke incident was floating around the school and people couldn't get enough of it.

"Just ignore them" Jake whispered in my ear when he joined me in the queue.
