Rosie's POV
Next day
"Mom I'm gonna go out for a bit" I said going into the kitchen where she was sat.
"Okay sweetie, be home by 4pm to get ready as we are going to the neighbours house for dinner" she answered.
"Which neighbours?" I asked curiously.
"Them ones" she said pointing to the right. Matts house. I smiled.
"Okay thanks mom! See you later!" I shouted and got out of the house. I walked down the drive and saw Matt stood waiting at the endow the driveway with his hands in his pockets.
"Looks like I'm having dinner at your house tonight" I said.
"So I heard" he chuckled. We started walking down the street.
"So where are we gonna go?" I asked.
"I've got a few ideas. I'm gonna take you to the mall first and there's this cool diner there where we can stop at for some lunch, then I'll show you the park and we can just kind of walk around really" he said.
"Sounds good" I nodded.
Whilst we were walking we talked about a bunch of random things until we arrived at the mall.
"Wanna go into any shops?" He asked. I shrugged.
"I don't mind, I don't need to get anything. Do you?" I asked.
"I want this cool jacket from H&M if we can stop off in there but that's it. Then we can go to the diner" he said. I nodded and let him lead the way to H&M.
We walked inside and went straight to the men section. He found the jacket straight away and didn't take long to find his size.
"How did you do that so quickly?" I asked with a small laugh.
"I'm a guy. We don't spend hours shopping like you girls do" he said.
"Don't exaggerate it" I said pushing him on the shoulder as we walked to the till. He laughed and we got in the queue. A few minutes later we walked up to the cashier and paid then left the shop.
"So where's this diner?" I asked looking around.
"It's in the food court, but I'm warning you now it's like the schools hang out so there's gonna be a lot of people I know in there" he chuckled.
"Are you popular?" I asked. He shrugged.
"I mean people know of me..." He trailed off. He seemed uneasy so I decided to drop the topic and talk about random things again whilst we walked there. We arrived at the diner which was next to McDonalds and walked inside. There were loads of teenagers here. It was your typical old fashioned American diner and I liked it.
"Yo Espinosa!" A voice yelled. Both Matt and I looked in the direction of the voice and saw a table with about 5 boys and two girls. Matt smiled and waved at them.
"Let's go over quickly, they're my group of friends" he said leading us to the tab,e they were sat at in the corner of the diner.
"Hey bro" a dark haired boy said high diving Matt. I awkwardly stood behind Matt at the end of the table.
"Who's your friend?" A blonde boy asked.
"Guys this is Rosie, she's new in town and is my next door neighbour. She's joining our school as well, junior year" he said diverting his eyes at one of the girls. I gave a small wave.
"I'm in junior year!" The dark haired girl with green eyes said to me kindly.
"Me too!" The dark haired boy said again. I laughed lightly.
