Two days later
I wanted to drive Hazel to Santa Monica Pacific Park on Friday after school. But I was forced to take Amira since Hazel asked me to, repeatedly.
I wanted to talk to one of either girls about to situation that happened Wednesday, but I wasn't sure who to go to first.
"Ooh, cotton candy!" Hazel exclaimed, pointing to the snack stand. "Ew." Amira commented. Hazel turned to me. "I want some, babe, can you come with me." "Sure."
I gave Amira the side eye, then followed my girl to go get some cotton candy. I went inside my wallet to pull out my money. "So babe, there's something I've been meaning to talk to you about."
"What's up?" Her eyes were fixed on the cotton candy, as she was mentally choosing which flavor she wanted.
"It's about Amira..." "I want the blue one!" Hazel announced. I took $2 out and payed for the blue cotton candy. Then she took it, and spun around and headed in a different direction.
"What about Amira?" She gave me a funny look. I stopped her tracks.
"Alright look. I know you're not going to love hearing this but... I think she's fake."
"Fake? Excuse me?" Hazel replied, baffled. "Why would you say that about her??"
"You know she's friends with Alisha right?" I protested. Hazel laughed. "Boy, they're not friends. They're cool with each other I know that much. But nothing more than that."
I raised my eyebrows at her. "You sure about that, hunny?" "What do you mean?"
"Haze, when we were at the mall yesterday, that $30 that you gave her was not to buy herself something. It was to give to Alisha."
