My face scrunched up in confusion. A? I thought for several moments, then suddenly, I had flashbacks from enemies in high school.

Dealt with a fake friend... what was her name?... Amira? Was she A? No it couldn't be. I had nothing against her, I just cut her off and forgot about her. And she had no reason to have anything against me anyway.

I remembered being pushed around by the popular girls. Did one of them have a name starting with the letter A? What was her name? Akesha? Amaya? Aisha?

I gasped and my eyes popped out.

"ALISHA!" I said out loud.

Jer swung around in surprise. "What??"

"I know who did this! It was Alisha Reynolds! Remember in high school when we got her locked up for five years for assaulting me? It's been five years... she's probably back for revenge!" I cried.

I put my hands on my head and paced around in panic. "Haze... chill. Okay? Let's just call the police and they'll look for her or... whoever did this." Jer said in a calm voice, patting his hand down like he was pushing the air.

"Then, we just came back from vacation to our apartment looking like this. Completely trashed. And we have no idea who did it." Jer said to the police officer. "You know damn well who did it." I muttered to him. He gave me a side look, then back to the officer.

"Well, we didn't see anybody suspicious on the way up here." The officer replied, glancing at the other one. "So all I can tell you is to keep an open eye out, and if you find the person who did this to your house, file for a vandalism charge." Jer deeply sighed. "Okay." On their way out he yelled, "thanks for nothing!"

"Now we have to search for the dumbass who did this ourselves." He groaned. "Jer... I told you it's Alisha!  The initial is A!"  I pointed to the graffiti on the wall. He glared at it for a few moments then said, "what the hell is this some Pretty Little Liars type shit?" "Jer, it's her." "Babe, we have no proof of that!" "Who else would it be? Nobody else has it out for us." "A could be anyone. Besides, it's literally been like five years since we've seen that girl, Haze. Why would she still be mad?"

"Because she was probably planning to get me back the second she got out of prison!" I argued. Jer looked at me like a silly little five year old. "This isn't the movies, sweetheart." "Oh my God..." I put my hands on my head again in alarm. "I remember her threatening me at court the day she got locked up!"

Flashbacks came to me. I remembered bits and pieces of what Alisha was yelling at me as she was being escorted out of court by police officers, ""I will get you Hazel Lemy!... When I get outta there I will find you and I'm gonna murder you! ...You haven't seen the last of me, I will get my revenge ya hear me?!!!!"

I began to shake in fear.

"Even if she did threaten you, how on earth would she be able to find out where we live even after years?"

He was right about it not making much sense. But I just knew in my gut that it was Alisha.

I started my registered nurse training at Malibu Pier Hospital the following Monday. It was such an exciting and rewarding experience, but it was hard for me to focus on my work and my trainer when all I could imagine was Alisha breaking into my house again at any waking moment. Maybe this time with a gun. Or a knife. I shivered at the thought of it, then focused my attention back to my trainer, Lucy.

"So you will also be responsible for checking up on patients, doing reports, and giving them the right medicine too." Lucy said, with a sweet grin. "I"ll let you take a short fifteen minute break then we'll resume, ok?" "Alright."

I headed in a dim lighted room, towards the vending machine to get a quick snack, then suddenly I heard footsteps behind me. "Hi Hazel."

I swung around, and saw a tall woman with her dark brown hair unevenly cut into a bob, she had a tattoo on her neck and arms. She was wearing sweatpants and a baggy shirt. She had a nice face and would have been so much prettier if she didn't look like she hadn't showered in a week.

She smirked at me. I looked around, perplexed. "Uh... hello." "You hungry?" "Um... a little bit, yeah." She was very creepy. "Well don't buy the Takis. They're too spicy." She took a step forward. "Unless you want to choke. And die. But hopefully somebody would find you in your apartment before you choke to death."

I was officially creeped out now. "How did you know I lived in an apartment?" "We live in Malibu honey. It's not that hard to find out... you know especially if you have it out for somebody who did you dirty." She gave me a look staring deeply into my eyes. Her eyes were big dark circles. They were a little scary.

Something about the way this lady was speaking to me made me really uncomfortable. I stared at her from head to toe. Something about her face seemed really familiar to me. Then it clicked.

"... Alisha?!"

She grinned. "Hey, maybe you're not so stupid after all, Lemy." "What the hell are you doing here? Are you following me?!" "Nonsense. Of course not." She spoke in a swift, sly voice. "I am only here to do my community service for my probation. My duty for today is to help out the nurse's assistants."

"You were the one who trashed me and Jeremiah's apartment aren't you?" I balled up my fists in anger. Alisha cocked her head to the side. "I'm not admitting to anything. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go help my nurse's assistant." And like a lizard, she slithered out of the room.

After my first day of training I speed walked outside to my car. I had no idea if Alisha was watching me from a distance or following me in the dark, but I didn't want to take any chances. I jerked my key in the ignition and drove off to my house. To safety. I had to get out of there.

So many thoughts filled my head. What do I do? Should I drive to the police station right now and press charges on her for vandalism? What if that just makes her even more angry? Should we move? Should I battle her? Should I let Jer handle it? Should I let the police handle her? But what if they aren't quick enough? What if----

Suddenly, I heard a bang on the top of my car twice in a row. I pulled over to the side of the rode to see what it was. It was dark outside so I could barely see anything. I looked around, puzzled. "Hello??" I called, loudly.

I heard nothing but still silence. No cars around either.

"You know you really shouldn't be speeding on the highway like that."

I twirled around, and there was Alisha standing in front of the woods, with her arms crossed.

I was startled. "STOP FOLLOWING ME!" I shouted.

"Oh no honey... I'm out of prison. And I still haven't gotten my revenge on you every since the incident. You got me locked away for years! Don't think I'm going to let you off that easy, bitch, you ruined my life, and I'm still mad!"

I backed away in fear, and ran back to my car. "Just watch your back if you and everyone you care about don't want to end up ten feet under!" She yelled after me.

Flashbacks from high school hit me when Amira helped me win the case against Alisha. She made it clear to me not to get her name in the mix of any of this, and now I understood why.

Alisha was a psycho. She was actually willing to murder somebody.
