I told Jer about the terrifying encounter I experienced with Alisha before I got home. He was very shocked and astonished, but good news was that he finally believed me.

"So... Alisha's really back?" "Yes! See? I told you!" He scratched his head with an ashamed look. "Sorry I didn't believe you." I sighed. "It's okay." "And that crazy bitch really threatened you again?!" "Yes, and I'm really scared!" I cried. "Sooner or later she will be going through with those serious threats. I mean, look at what she did to our house! She threatened to kill me and she knows exactly where we live."

"Man, I wish she was a dude so that I could kick her ass." Jer grunted. "Violence will only add fuel to the fire. I'm calling the cops!" "What will the cops do, Haze? We already tried that, and they did nothing for us." "Well I'm sure they can help us figure out a way to stop her!"

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

"Well if the woman is stalking and threatening you like that, and you have no idea where she could be now, I suggest that we put you in the Victim Protection Program." The cop said. Jer and I exchanged glances. "What's that?" I asked. "It's a program where victims who feel unsafe with their offender after they are released from prison. Because of stalking, harassing, or threats such as this situation, we take you out of your home and put you in a safe place, out of state, far away from the former convict, just until we find her."

I looked at Jer in newfound joy. He just glanced at me, then back at the officer. "How much will this cost?" "It's free." My eyes lightened up. "Sounds amazing." "Well... I don't see why not." Jer shrugged. "Maybe if we're gone for long enough she'll finally leave us alone." Old Jeremiah probably would have just hired a hit man to go after her.

"And we will do our best to search for her, to put her back in jail, because she definitely violated her probation and supposedly vandalized your apartment." "Wait! What about my job? How will I work if I won't even be in state." I asked, remembering I had RN job training.

"Well it seems like you're going to have to leave your job for a little while, until this all blows over." The second police officer replied. I sighed heavily, and ran my fingers through my hair. I barely even started my career life and Alisha has already ruined it. Jer came over and rubbed my shoulder in comfort. "It's okay baby. Once this all blows over and she'll be locked up again will finally be out of our hair for good." I half grinned, then sighed again. "Ok. We'll do it."

Later on, when I went to the car to go find my passport I realized that my tires had been slashed. I boiled up with anger, but with fear as well. Fucking Alisha.

We needed to leave as soon as possible before this gets even worse.

We met with the Victim Protection Program committee, and they flew us out and put us in a motel in Oklahoma. The only thing was that the motel was filthy as hell. Inside and out. And man Oklahoma was hot. I made a disgusted face as we entered our room. "So... this is our motel??" I asked. There were dirt spots on several places on the floor, scratches on the wall, old looking furniture, the bed sheets and pillows almost looked yellow, and it smelled like a public bathroom.

"Just for us to stay temporarily." Jer mentioned. I put my suitcases down and looked all around, trying not to puke. "Ugh. No wonder it's free. This place is a complete wasteland." "Aw come on, I've slept in worst places." "I doubt that." I grumbled. "Stop being so pouty." He wrapped me in his arms and I rolled my eyes. "I'm just so stressed." "I know, I know." He replied, sweetly, then pecked my cheek. "Hey, you want to watch some movies and get your mind off of things?"

We shuffled through Netflix and watched movies such as Black Panther, Despicable Me 3, and Madagascar, and a few shows until I fell asleep in his arms. Days passed, and we didn't hear from Alisha at all. I wondered what she was plotting. Or if she finally decided to leave us alone.
