she was beautiful,
the most stunning thing he'd ever seen
as she ran to him.
he couldn't make himself move, too
filled with shock to do anything.
it was her,
she was there.
a happiness warmed his chest, so
wide and bright that he didn't know if he
could take it.
but then, she was in his arms,
the daisies and peanut butter falling to the ground
and her tears soaking into his shirt.
his arms wound around her, squeezing her to him
so tightly she couldn't breathe and he
began praying it wasn't a dream.
"oh my god."
he closed his eyes, feeling her hair
with trembling fingers.
"oh my god."
and he lifted her chin, staring into her tear-filled eyes
as his eyes became wet too.
his fingers stilled on her cheek
and they stared at each other,
sharing a perfect moment and pretending for
just a second that they had never been apart, before
he yanked her up and pressed his lips to hers.
"oh my god."
