sue.
her dad had always told her
to do whatever it was that made her
happy.
and after countless movie marathons
with him, she was off to study film.
she wasn't sure what she wanted
and she had never before
written a script.
but when she loved, she felt it
and that's how it was with film.
she ate peanut butter out of the jar
and fed all the stray cats
behind her house.
she read more books than should
be allowed and
she loved the smell of daisies.
she liked to take photos,
because being able to
capture a moment forever
was the most beautiful concept
in the world to her.
she hated the summer time
and ached for the snow.
and she most often
lied in a boy's truck bed
thinking about life.
she had a soft soul
and a full heart
because she had loved him
more than even the heavens could
comprehend.
and at the airport,
as she handed him a photograph
of her and her mother from when
when she was young,
she cried into his chest,
unsure how she could go pursue
her dreams
without the boy who had always filled them.
