there was only one more day
for them to be together-truly together.
they laid in the back of oliver's truck
as they and so many
times before but this time was
so different.
they felt it,
hanging in the air was the
sorrow of being apart again.
neither of them knew what to
say and neither of them made a move to
try and lift the mood. and
every once in a while, a single tear would
slide down their faces.
they watched the sun set
and each of the stars come out
and they sat beneath the universe
wondering about the longing they
both harbored in their souls.
"forever, right?" sue said yet again.
oliver kissed her on the forehead, almost
scared to take his lips away.
"forever."
"we can do this right?"
"yes, we can."
"you love me, right?"
"of course I do."
"I already miss you."
"I already miss you more."
