miles and miles

forever

they visited oliver's family the next morning,

and they had never seen anyone smile

as big as his dad did

as he clapped his son on the back and

his mother gripped them both in tears.

they told them about school

and oliver talked to his dad about soccer

and his mother said about a

thousand times that she missed them

dearly.

after awhile they all dispersed

and oliver and sue decided

they should take a walk.

and so they went to the park down the street,

sitting on a park bench with their

hands intertwined and their silence

filled with a single thought,

forever.
