You drop the phone, your heart breaking by the ticking second. Your older brother/sister just broke the news to you about your mothers death. You scramble to pick up your phone "The funeral is next week." He/she whispers her/his voice weak from crying.

You got the phone call that your mom had died a few days ago, you were now standing at the elevators of the BAU team. Each team member likely held face of hurt, and sadness watching their youngest member and little 'sister' as Morgan teased leave.

Spencer seemed the most hurt, his eyes were flashing fear, and sadness. You give a weak smile "My car is downstairs waiting, I guess this goodbye." You try to be strong but you just couldn't do it, you would be lying to yourself and them.

"Goodbye, kid. You had one hell of a run." Rossi hugs you "Thanks, Rossi."

Morgan steps up "I'm not saying goodbye, I know I'll see you some other time." He hugs you "But just for my sake, stay safe. Little sister." You give a faint smile "Thanks Morgan, you're truly like a brother." Emily, JJ, and Garcia hugged you.

"You can't leave like this. I haven't even saw yours and Spencer's baby!" Garcia let tears fall you laugh "Garcia that probably wouldn't happen." She sniffles as Morgan holds her "Henry's gonna miss you, and so will Will." JJ steps back.

"Y/n, I love you as a best friend." Emily hugs you again "I love you too." Hotch clears his throat as Emily steps back "You've lightened this office and team up, and I thank you for that. It won't be the same without you Y/n, but we hope to see you again." Hotch nods towards you.

Spencer stood there speechless, everyone but Spencer left to give you two some privacy. You look at him as a few tears slide down his cheeks "Y/n, please don't leave. Not now." He whispers you give a weak smile "I have to, for my family. I'm gonna miss you, Spence." He hugs you tightly "I will always miss you." He mumbles you hug him back "I have to go now."

He releases you "It's like your dying, and I won't see you again. Y/n, I don't want that." He looks for an answer in your eyes.

"Goodbye, my lil' genius. Do what you do best." You leave the building after that.

The car takes you to the airport, the airport provides you a plane that steals you to your hometown. You met up with your sibling/s, the days leading up to the funeral were spent planning the funeral.

You sat in the middle of the funeral, your sibling/s were standing near your mothers casket. You couldn't bear to witness it, they carried her casket outside. You all stood around listening to the priest that used to be your mothers close friend.

You put your head down and let some tears slip down your cheek, wasn't life hard enough now? You just lost your job, your mom, your amazing friends/team members! Everything just seemed to hate you, and not to mention you lost the love of your life; Spencer Reid.

Spencer anxiously looks around noticing the massive group of people, he stopped for a minute trying to scan the crowd. His feet picked up pace as he got near the crowd soon he lost speed and was walking towards his friend.

He slowly squished past people and made it to the side of his friend, and the love of his life; Y/n Y/l/n. She looked up at him as his long fingers locked with her shorter ones, her (e/c) eyes locking with his coffee brown ones "You're here." She whispers.

"Of course I am, I couldn't let you face this alone." He gives her a worked up smile finally seeing her once more. They walked to her car together after the funeral "Y/n we need you back on the team." You shake your head.

"Spence, I just can't. I promised my family I would come back for good." He looks down "I love you." He whispers "I love you too, but I just can't come back." You hug him tightly. The next day you finally kissed him before he left on the plane taking him back to Quantico.

"Goodbye, my lil' genius. Do what you do best." You whisper placing a hand on the cold glass of the airport.
