This chapter is dedicated to Aileedales for the support and for keeping me motivated to keep this story going because I actually thought that there was no one reading this. Just want to say a massive, massive thank you for reading my story and I am so glad you're enjoying it! ❤️
6 MONTHS LATER
* * *Chief Bruce walked into the kitchen with a smile. Nathan was at the stove, stirring a sauce whilst Andy sat at the table.
"Andy, how's the little mister doing?"
"Hey Chief! Kicking the life out of me right now." Nathan rushed back to his seat, a plate of food in his hands. "Thank you," she said. She attempted to lean over and kiss him but couldn't reach further enough. Nathan chuckled before leaning over, resting his hands on her bump. "Thanks."
"It's okay. Sorry about the late food, we just got back from a call. So don't eat too slow because we'll miss your appointment."
She waved a hand, showing it didn't matter to her. Across the table, Carr was smiling down at his phone. Andy watched as he chuckled before typing.
"Jess?"
"Who else?" Asher said with a groan. "Jess this, Jess that. I get his little boy, but dammit, he acts as though we never met Jessica before."
"Fuck you," Carr said, still smiling and not taking his eyes off the phone. Mo sat at his usual seat, his feet put up on one the chairs. "Mo tell him."
"Stop being jealous of everyone Ash. Let him be happy."
"I don't get it, why don't you just move in with her?" Carr sighed, locking his screen.
"I want to get this court case dealt with before we settle down in the house. I want everything to be perfect." He looked at the lock screen of his phone, Connor's and Jessica's wide smiles. "Con asked me if Jess was his mummy and I didn't know what to say. And then last week when Jess wasn't feeling well, he was walking away with a bottle of juice and said he was taking it to mummy."
"Aw, bless! Has Jess heard any of it?"
"Nope. I'm gonna tell her soon though but probably after the custody is settled."
"When's the final hearing?" Andy asked before stuffing some chicken in her mouth.
"In a month."
"Your solicitor say anything about the way it's looking?"
Carr shrugged. "Brittany really doesn't seem that interested. She spoke about her job, how she has to travel and shit but said she will get a good babysitter. When she flipped it on me being a firefighter, I showed them that I have support from my mum, sister, Jess and you guys." He sighed as he looked down at his phone. "My boy and Jess mean the world to me guys. I don't want to lose either of them."
