I Had You At Hello- A Jemi Love Story

Episode 16

Joe sighs as he pulls his shirt down over his torso. This is the day Joe and Demi haven't wanted to come but neither did any of their families. Over the weeks Joe and Demi had been spending a lot of time at each other's house, Demi had become good friends with Joe's brothers especially Nick and bonded well with his parents same with Joe, he actually got her dad to warm up to him once he got to know him a bit better. Eddie knew Joe would never hurt his daughter initially but still warned him if he does he wouldn't see the sun shine the next day. Joe makes his way downstairs into the kitchen where his mom is at the stove cooking and Nick and Kevin sat down waiting to be fed by their mother. They all look towards the door when they heard it open giving him a sympathetic look.

"I don't need any sympathy okay, I know she's leaving but we'll work it out." Joe says and they all go back to doing what they were doing before he had walked in. Joe takes a seat at the head of the table away from everyone else laying his arms on the table nuzzling his head on the crease of his arms. Words won't explain how much he will miss Demi over the next couple of weeks until he is able to go visit, she doesn't know he is yet and won't know until the day comes.

"What time is she leaving Joe?" Denise questions putting plates down on the table, Joe lifts his head up pulling his plate up to the place mat beginning to eat.

"I think her flight is at 11 so I'm off over there after I've eaten."

"You want us to come for support?" Nick asks and Joe shakes his head.

"That is the last thing I want you to do and that is the reason you said bye last night." Joe lectures and he shrugs silence filling the room as everyone is filling their faces with food, apart from Denise who is eating like you'd expect a women to but Joe, Nick and Kevin are boys after all.

The door opens on Joe gaining a warm smile from Demi's mom, they share a hug before she allows Joe to come in and tells him she's upstairs packing the last of her bags. Joe goes upstairs 2 steps at a time before standing outside her door, he pushes it open to see Demi laid on her bed fast asleep looking exhausted. Joe sighs slightly before making his way over to the bed gently climbing on top of it next to her wrapping his arms around her making her eyes flutter open smiling when she notices the arms wrapped around her, she looks up seeing her boyfriend looking down at her but she can't help but begin to tear up.

"Hey beautiful." Joe greets kissing her head.

"Hi h-handsome." She chokes letting the tears roll down her cheeks. Joe begins worrying beginning to shush her as she cries into his chest. He's never really experienced a time where Demi was upset in the summer mainly because there weren't many dull moments, the truth is Demi has had the time of her life and doesn't want to leave his side even if they do have a long distant relationship. Demi soon calms down in Joe's embrace his touch just being comforting to her at the moment.

"What's wrong Dems?" Joe questions stroking her hair.

"I don't wanna leave." She admits, he sighs and leans down pecking her lips.

"You have to and finish off your last year at school." Joe says.

"I know but I don't wanna go, they will start at me again." Demi says looking down at the mattress since the bed sheets have been taken off ready for cleaning.

"They don't see the side I do, everytime they say something to you just remember your boyfriend back here," Joe encourages, Demi can't help but smile. Joe pulls away slightly reaching into his pocket pulling out a necklace, he hands it to Demi and she looks down at it admiring the gold key shining in the sunlight coming through from the window. "You'll always have my heart Dems, you have the key." Joe whispers in her ear.

"I love you Joe." Demi says quickly.

"I love you too beautiful." He replies crashing his lips on hers filling the kiss with as much passion as he could, Demi kisses back with the same amount if not a bit more.
