I Had You At Hello- A Jemi Love Story

Episode 3

Hours go by Joe and Demi just getting lost in time, it wasn't until Joe's phone begun ringing that they realised that the time  was after lunch. Joe picks up his phone seeing the caller ID being Nick, he hits the call button and holds the phone up to his ear.

"What?" Joe questions making Demi smack him, he holds up his hand to where she hit him looking at her as she mouths for him not to be rude.

"What are you doing with this girl? fucking her?" Nick jokes and Joe chuckles.

"Yeah whatever, nothing I swear." He tells him and Nick laughs as if he's not telling the truth, Joe just decides to hang up on him giving Demi all his attention again rather than just one of his annoying little brothers. Joe places his phone back in his pocket before moving his glance back up to Demi who is shining in the sunlight, it just makes her that little bit more beautiful to him.

"Who was that?" Demi questions being nosey.

"My younger brother Nick, my family thinks I'm trying to sleep with you," Joe explains and Demi raises her eyebrow making Joe realise he probably shouldn't have told her that. "Don't worry I'm not, I promise." Joe assures and Demi laughs at the shock on his face, his face lightens up and begins laughing with her.

"I should probably get back to my parents," Demi says standing up. "Thanks for a good morning and most of the afternoon." She tells him as he stands up too.

"You're welcome, can I take you out for dinner tomorrow?" Joe asks hopeful and Demi sighs looking up at him, she really does want to but she knows she's only here for the summer after that she will be back in Texas doing what she should be doing.

"Joe I'm on vacation remember, by the middle of August I will be gone and I don't know if I can do a long distant relationship," Demi says really not wanting to but she knows it's for the best. Joe nods disappointment clear on his face, Demi can't take that face anymore. "Sorry." She apologises before leaving Jo behind.

Demi can't believe she actually let a guy down like that but she can't take a long distant relationship especially with being in her senior year. First time she'd ever let a good looking guy down and all because she was in the wrong state. She can't get his face out her mind though but not the face she'd like but the face of disappointment. She enters her house collapsing on the chair in the living room as her parents watch her from the couch.

"Hey princess." Her father greets and she gives him a warm smile.

"Who you been with all this time?" Dianna asks as Demi pulls her sunglasses onto her head since she's inside now.

"Just a guy." She says her eyes wondering around the room but back to her parents when she doesn't hear a response, they look at her and she groans knowing exactly what they're thinking, why can't a girl go out with a guy without presuming their dating.

"It's not like that, he asked me out tomorrow night but I said no." Demi explains.

"Good." Eddie mumbles and Dianna smacks him.

"Why sweetie, I know you've always wanted a boyfriend." Dianna asks.

"Because we're only here briefly then we will be back in Texas, I don't really want a long distance relationship." Demi explains then sighs at the end.

"Seems like you don't really want that." Dianna says shushing her husband as he goes to speak.

"Well I kinda like him, he's cute and really sweet it's just the distance that is affecting my decision." Demi admits sighing as she plays with her fingers.

"Just have a summer romance then as long as you'd both know you probably won't meet again after the summer." Dianna suggests desperately wanting her daughter to be happy, she knows long she's wanted a boyfriend to love and she can't deny the look on Demi's face as she talks about this boy.
