Chapter 19: To Get To The Other Side

Fall.

The leaves crashed the floor gently and swayed in the air for a good second.

Nova was watching as they fell from a tree, one by one they fell.

She was once again thinking of her past. Her mother. Her hometown. Her old school. Everything. She was playing scenes in her head of her mother teaching her soccer in the big field behind their old house.

She remembered how happy she was and how she felt so alive. Just playing in the grass and mud with her mom. Her mom. Not that replacement that her father placed to fill the void in his empty heart.

Wow. This is getting too deep into a black hole. Let's get out.

She thought.

Juliet rushed towards her running and nearly fell onto a pile of leaves raked up.

"I have some exciting news!" Juliet said handing Nova a paper.

"A recommendation? For Yale? This early oh my goodness congrats Jules!" Nova said hugging Juliet.

" The headmistress gave it to me after English! She said that it would be great for me" Juliet said exclaiming and jumping around.

She twirled around the big tree as the leaves fall on top of her face. She smiled as they all came to her face.

" I can do something Nova! Something that doesn't invlove trying to earn money all the time. I can study whatever I want. Chemistry. Zoology! I can be an astronaut for gods sake!" Juliet said smiling as she twirled some more.

Nova had never seen Juliet this happy. This excited. Going to a good college and getting a scholarship really meant a lot to her.

Charlie noticed her spinning under the tree and smiled that it could cover up his face.

" Did you have something to do with this Charlie." Liam nudged towards Juliet laughing happily.

Charlie shrugged and smiled again at her.

"Wow you really do like her." James said looking back at her.

"I sure do" Charlie said patting James on the shoulder and waking towards Nova and Juliet.

Theo had come too and furrowed her eyes at Juliet but laughed it off.

"Hey" Theo said at Nova and Juliet who was too busy in her world of possible careers.

Theo pointed at Juliet and looked at Nova with a confused face.

"Let's just say she could go to Yale and she's really freaking happy." Nova said chucking as Theo shook his head laughing too.

Charlie came and Liam and James followered.

Juliet stopping spinning and soon got very dizzy but Charlie caught her before she fell onto the leave covered ground.

" Okay enough spinning for you" Charlie said laughing and held her shoulders from her falling down.

"Agreed" She said closing her eyes to try to stop the room from going round and round.

"Do you guys wanna got some lunch?" James said skipping to the cafeteria.

" Yes i'm starving!" Nova said running with James.

They all got their food and sat down on the ground as they talked about nonsense.

"Hey guys I just wanna announce something." Charlie said looking over at everyone but looking at Juliet a bit longer.

Juliet took a drink from her water bottle and Charlie said looking at everyone " I broke up with Melanie." He said smiling.

Juliet spat out the water across the circle they created right at Theo.
