Chapter 23

Months had passed and I was still filming movies. I really missed Brian and the rest of the boys. I've heard that they will start recording songs for their new album. I was proud of them.

The distance didn't stop me from talking to all my friends daily. Every day I talked to the boys, especially my brother and Nick. They are all like older brothers to me, well not all of them...

I also had to keep up with school work every day and that wasn't fun stuff to do. I had a private tutor - a nice lady that always wears glasses and has her hair in a ponytail.

I was back in Orlando. I was so happy to see everyone. BJ couldn't stop talking to me about things that were going on in school.

"And Theodor, ya know that boy from my grade, got into deep trouble." I nodded.

"How?" I asked.

"He got into a fight with the History teacher."

"Ow." I replied and chuckled.

"He is in deep trouble now." I shook my head as I looked at a magazine that I was reading.

"Hey, isn't that you?" Bobbie pointed at a photo.

"Oh, yeah actually." I replied. It was an interview with me.

"I wanna read it." BJ said and grabbed the magazine from my hands.

"Me and the boys are going over to Kevin's house. Wanna go with us?" Brian asked me one night while I was reading a book in the living room.

"Sure, why not." I replied as I stood up. It was around 8pm. I didn't change as I had decent clothes on - shorts and a T-Shirt.

When me and Brian arrived, the other boys were already there.

"Oh hi, Karla." AJ greeted me. "What brings a celebrity like you here?"

"I don't know." I shrugged. "Brian asked me if I wanted to come."

"Well welcome then. Would you like me to show you around?" God, AJ was acting so silly today.

"I've been to this house, remember?" I laughed.

"Ohhh." He made a stupid face. "Actually yes, I remember."

That night the boys didn't stop doing stupid things. All they thought of, especially Nick and AJ, was how to prank me. However, their tries were unsuccessful. Some people just don't have the talent for pranking.

The only thing I didn't like about me meeting the boys was the awkwardness that I felt around Nick. I played it cool and acted like his best friend, which I was, but there was something that felt different. I was developing a crush on Nick... I didn't know for how long would it last, but I knew that me and Nick would never be a thing. First of all, he doesn't even seem to like me back. Second of all, he has band business and soon we might even not see each other in a long period of time. Third of all, I don't think that Brian would like me to date his friend.

I just had face the truth...

I needed a friend to talk to about all this. I couldn't tell BJ, because she would tell Nick even if I asked her to keep the secret. Besides, she's his sister. I couldn't tell Brian and the boys, because they would make fun of me every day... Amanda was the one to talk to about this. I knew she would understand me.

"Hello?" I heard my friend's voice through the phone.

"Hi Amanda, It's Me Karla."

"Oh hey! How are you doing?"

"Ugh nice, I guess. I have to talk to you about something..." I started getting straight to the point.

"Go on."

"You remember Nick, right?"

"Yeah I do. What about him?" She asked me and my heart started racing faster as I felt super awkward.

"Well... um..." I turned red as I tried to tell her about how I felt.

"What?" She asked but shortly after said: "Ohhh. You like him, right?"

"Kind of..."

"I'm so happy for you! You guys make a cute couple!"

"Forget about it." I told her and sighed. "That's not gonna happen."

"Why?"

"I don't think that he even likes me back! Besides we barely see each other lately."

"Look, Nick likes you and I know that. I've seen how he looks at you. He's clearly into you."

"You think so?" I rolled my eyes. I don't think it was true. She tried to make me feel better.

"Totally!"

"So, um... I gotta go. Talk to you later?"

"Sure!" She replied and I hung up.

I laid on my bed thinking about life. I liked Nick, but at the same time I didn't want to be in a relationship. It was just too complicated. Soon his career will take off, he will get more famous, and maybe even forget me some day...
