Chapter 38

I was falling asleep on Nick's shoulder, when he said:

"So what are we gonna do now?"

"Huh?" I said yawning. I was really looking forward to go to sleep.

"The thing about us." He said. "Should we tell the others?"

"No." I said quickly. "It would be better not to say it yet. You know how everybody would react, especially the magazine people..."

"You are right." Nick said and nodded facing the open window.

"Besides, you are gonna tour a lot and do your band stuff." I sighed.

"Hey! It's gonna be okay." Nick smiled and giggled. "I won't forget about you." He looked in my eyes and I smiled.

"Shouldn't you go back to your house and get some sleep?" I asked.

"Maybe." Nick replied still sitting on my bed. "I was waiting for this moment for a while now." Nick winked at me as he got up.

I blushed and rolled my eyes but he probably didn't see it, because of the darkness in my room.

"Do you have a rope or something?" He asked me while looking through the window.

"No?" I said confused.

"Damn." Nick sighed.

"Wait, how did you get up here then? That's a bit stupid you know."

"It was way easier to go up here." Nick shrugged and I rolled my eyes while looking at his helpless and funny face expression.

I shook my head.

"Hang on. I'm gonna search for something." I said and got out of my room as quiet as possible. Where could I find a rope in my house?

I got downstairs and looked everywhere, but still found absolutely nothing.

"If you can't get out through the window, you should try and go out trough the door." I said when I got back to my room and slowly closed the door.

It was risky to try the door, but if Nick was this clever to come here in the middle of the night, the joke was on him.

"What if we wake up your mom or Brian?"

That was another problem. Mom and Brian were rather deep sleepers, but it was still risky.

"You only live once, besides it was not my idea to go to someone's house, through their window, in the middle of the night." I crossed my arms.

Nick rolled his eyes, but eventually followed me downstairs to the front door. It was locked, but I managed to find the keys nearby. My face cringed as the keys made a terrible sound while trying to open the door.

"Bye, Karla." Nick said quickly and got out of the house.

"Bye, Nick." I said when he was already gone, running down the street, trying not to be noticed by anybody.

As soon as I closed the door I ran upstairs to my room and closed the door. I laid on my bed and a big smile appeared on my face. Could this be happening for real? No, it definitely wasn't a dream... It was real.
