My name is Adeline. No middle or last name; just Adeline. That's the way it had been since I woke up in the woods, a vampire, with no memory of my life before. And since that day, I had been on my own, traveling the world at my own pace.
-
I was simply exploring when I heard it; the sound of others. Then I saw a baseball fly right pass me.
'I should take it to them,' I thought 'it's the southern thing to do.'
I ran quickly to the edge of the clearing they were playing baseball in before stopping. I slowly walked forward and very simple said:
"I believe this may be yours."
Suddenly 7 pairs of eyes were on me, and so I smiled sweetly before tossing the ball to a boy with reddish hair.
"Yes it is," said a man with short blonde hair.
"Well now that I've done 'the southern thing to do,'" I paused laughing to myself, "I believe you have a game to finish and I have more exploring to do."
I went to turn around when I heard someone speak.
"Wait. Before you go, why don't you join us in our game?" A girl with short black hair asked.
"Yes please do join us," the same blonde man said.
"I guess one game won't hurt." I said hesitantly.
Before I could take another step I felt someone in my head, reading my thoughts.
"I'm sorry, but going through someone's head is quite rude if you don't even know they're name." I said laughing.
"I'm sorry," the boy with reddish hair spoke, "I wasn't aware you knew I was there. I'm Edward."
"It's fine, let's just say I have a talent of being self aware. I'm Adeline, pleasure to met you."
"I do suppose introductions should be done before we play, that way you know the names of the cheaters," spoke the blonde, "My name is Carlisle and this is my wife Esme."
He pointed towards a beautiful women with brown red hair, who smiled sweetly at me.
"I'm Alice," the girl who told me to stay earlier spoke.
"Emmett, and this is my wife Rosalie." a very large dark haired man spoke, while pointing to a blonde women who looked as if she could be Aphrodite.
Then the last man spoke, a sandy blonde who hadn't caught my eye until I heard his voice. "I'm Jasper, pleasure to met you ma'am."
"Now that's done, let's play ball." Rosalie spoke.

After a long game of baseball, I was ready to continue on my way. While getting ready to leave, I was approached by Esme.
"Are you all alone? Or are you going to met family of yours?"
I paused before looking up at her, "I've been alone a long time."
Esme frowned at this. "Why don't you join us for the night. If you want to continue alone tomorrow I won't stop you, but you should have a chance to not be alone."
"Thank you," I said, wondering why the sweet women wanted me to stay.
