Two weeks had gone by since I had left the Cullen household, and my phone had been collecting missed notifications.
I looked down at my phone before opening the one text from Jasper. I knew what the others would say: "He didn't mean it," "We want you to come home," "Get back home before I actually burn you." The last being from Rosalie.
'Where are you?' Was all the text read.
'Why do you care? You told me you wanted me gone, why does it matter where I am?'
Less than a minute later I had received a response.
'Adeline please come home. I didn't mean what I said. I love you, I was just mad and jealous.'
'Jealous of what?'
'Caius'
'What? Why would you ever be jealous of him?'
'Come home and we can talk about it.'
'I will come home, but not for you. For everyone else.'
I did not want to go back, to face Jasper after he yelled all of those things at me. Though I knew if I didn't come home now, Rose would actually hunt me down and drag me back to the house. I had spent the past two weeks in a hotel in Seattle. I had considered going to the Volturi, but I had decided to wait until week four; lucky it didn't last that long.

I was on my way back to the Cullen household when I heard voices I knew so well.
"James she's not worth it. There are too many of them."
"Victoria. I want her and I WILL get her."
I ran toward the voices and made my grand entrance, "Sounds like you might need help."
I was immediately taken into a bone-crushing hug by the two.
"Line!" Victoria yelled, "I thought we would never see you again!"
"Vic, it's me. I couldn't go my whole eternity without seeing y'all again." I paused looking at the two, "Actually speaking of y'all where is Laurent?"
"He's off being a traitor," James spoke, "He's off warning a coven of how amazingly dangerous I am."
"Who? James, who are you going after?"
"Some stupid human," Victoria answered, "A girl named Bella. A coven of vampires protected her and now he wants her more than he wants me."
"Victoria, you know I could never want anyone more than I want you," James said while pulling her into a tight hug. I could not help but feel jealous.
"Let me help you. I've spent the last year with this coven, and I know how they work. Plus I know you miss me working on by your side."
"Of course we want your help! We miss the good old days!"

An hour later, I stood at the edge of the Cullen property, waiting to hear updates of their plan. When I heard Laurent leave their residence I ran inside. As soon as I entered the living room, may gasps were heard.
"I don't have time for formalities. James wants Bella more than anyone I have ever seen him want in the past. I have agreed to help him, though I do not mean this. I want to keep you all safe, including Bella. No one deserves to be one of James's victims."
"How do we save her?" Oh Edward how I missed your annoying self, "I know you did."
"You need to get her out of the state. As far away as you can get her, but this will only stall him. Edward, you have to stay far away from her as well. We are going to throw him off."
"What do you mean 'we'?"
"Edward, you and I are going to go and drive the opposite direction as Bella. Someone else can take her."
I looked around the room, locking eyes with Rose before stating, "This can only work if everyone works with together. This is a risk for us all."
"We will do whatever you think we should," Carlisle stated.

I now sat next to Edward, dressed in Bella's clothing, as we drove off towards the east coast.
"You know I can read your thoughts Adeline, right?"
"What about it?"
"I know they'll kill you if they find out you are working against them. Why would risk that much for a coven you left and a human you despise?"
"I didn't want to leave your family, you know that. He gave me no choice but to leave."
"And he immediately regretted you leaving."
"That doesn't matter; he made me leave. Anyways, I do not hate Bella. I think she is choosing the wrong path for her life; that she is bringing danger into all of our lives. Lastly, no one should have to suffer through James. I've seen it done once and that was enough."
"Why do you treat her so coldly if you do not hate her?"
"I want her to turn away and give up, at least for some more years. She is too young to give up her life to become one of us, but if the Volturi finds out they will not care her age. They will either kill or turn her."
"I know and agree. She is far too young."
"Then why do you not stay away?"
"Why did you not go far away from Jasper?"
"He is my mate. Despite how badly he hurt me, I can not stay away. He is my mate and the love of my eternity."
"And she is mine."
"I know, and that scares me for her."
Suddenly Edward's phone started ringing and we both rushed to grab it; though I reached it first.
"What's the update?"
"Adeline, he knows Edward doesn't have Bella. He changed his course."
"We'll call Alice, see what the future holds."
I hung up, immediately dialing Alice's number.
"Alice, have you seen where he is heading?"
"A ballet studio, Bella recognized it. She says it is here in Pheonix."
"Alice get her far away from Pheonix! Get her on a plane and have Edward met her anywhere! Anywhere but Pheonix!"
"Adeline calm down, why are you suddenly so frightened?"
"If you can see an exact location then he is done. He believed his prey is finally in it's trap. He knows he can kill her. Get her out now."

Woah look at me. Another update on time. I'm actually really ready to have the Twilight section of this book done, and so I am sorry if these chapters seem rushed or are written very badly. Please comment suggestions of what should be corrected or what should happen in future chapters! I love y'all!!
