Chapter 10: A New Encounter

A/N- Hey guys, THANKS SOOOOO MUCH FOR 1K!!!!😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 I also have a ton of votes, more than I expected to get! I've got a good idea for the ending...but it's sad. I'm probably gonna go with it but again, I might not. But don't worry it's not ending for a while 😉. I think I might end it at chapter 20 or something 🤔. Sorry for not uploading, I've had a lot going on lately and haven't been able to upload.

Tommy's POV

Adam picked me up and laid me on his bed. He then went out the room without saying anything. I sat up and burst into tears again. He left me. Why? Was he angry at me for cutting? What was he going to do? After about an hour when he still never came back, I lay back down and stared up at the ceiling. I took a deep shaky breath and my eyelids flickered shut. The last I remember hearing before I fell asleep was Adam yelling.

The door suddenly opened and I heard someone sigh. I pretended to still be asleep as I felt the mattress sink slightly. "I'm so sorry Pretty Kitty..." I realised that it must be Adam. He ran his finger through my fringe before kissing my forehead. I turned over and wriggled onto his lap. He tensed slightly but soon relaxed after I snuggled into him. I felt him shuffle back slightly and guessed that he leaned against the wall.

Suddenly his phone started ringing. I jumped and my eyes shot open. He started running his hand through my hair again to calm me. I relaxed slightly and closed my eyes again. "What do you want now?!" Adam asked through gritted teeth. Someone spoke on the other end. Adam's hand froze. "Don't you dare!" He whisper shouted, "...Well we won't be here when you are!" He snapped before ending the call. He gently slid me off his lap and I heard him frantically rushing around the room.

Adam's POV

"Cmon TJ we gotta go" I picked up Tommy and speed walked out my room. He moaned and rubbed his eyes as we rushed downstairs, "where are we going?" I bit my lip as I opened my car and sat Tommy in the passenger seat. "I...I don't know yet, away from here that's all I know." I shoved the bags onto the back seats and ran back inside to get my keys. I left my parents a note, saying we should be home either tomorrow or the day after. I darted back to the car and started the engine.

As I reversed out of the drive, I saw Cody's truck turn the corner, heading towards us. "Ah shit, we gotta get outta here now!" Tommy frowned. "Why? Who's that in the- oh..." he saw who it was as we drove past them and sped away. "Now we have to hope that they don't follow us..." I muttered as we stopped at traffic lights. "Adam...what do they want from us?..." Tommy bit his lower lip nervously. I rubbed his cheek with the palm of my hand and he nuzzled into it. "They're threatening to hurt us because...I stuck up for you...it's not your fault though it's theirs" Tommy sighed and leaned back. "It is because of me..." he whispered, but I could just hear him. "Thomas Joseph Ratliff listen to me right now, none of this is your fault. It's that son of a bitch Cody and his idiotic friends...it's partly my fault too! But you're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I love you with all my heart." Tommy stared at me, slightly shocked. I sighed and focused on driving again as the lights turned green again. "H...how is any of this your fault?" He stammered.

I sighed. "You know how I couldn't come to school because of my mom?" He nodded. "Well, I snuck out shopping to get you and me some stuff but I should've come to school instead!" I thumped the steering wheel angrily.

Tommy's POV

I stayed quiet and let Adam continue. I didn't know what to say. "I-It's fine..." I eventually managed to say. There was silence after that, it was very awkward...
