Ro's sick (Thirty-one)

Teddy PoV

It was a couple of days after the family meeting thing, I was coming home from working the night shift at about 5am, I snoozed on the couch for about an hour, because I knew that I wasn't going to get a full 8 hours of sleep that day, (or any day to be perfectly honest with you), Ro then woke up and walks into the lounge 'cause that's what she normally does in the morning before she went to school, though I could tell that something wasn't right with her that morning.

"Hey Sweetheart"
"Hey Daddy"
"Are you feeling ok?"
"No Daddy, I don't feel well, (cough, cough)"
"(Coos), You don't sound well either Baby girl, ok, come here"

I felt her forehead to see if it was hot, because I was parenting and shit, (or at least attempt to parent and shit), and her forehead was boiling, which meant that her temperature would've been high, I then checked it on the thermometer just to be safe.

"Daddy"
"Yes Baby?"
"What time is Auntie Jade picking me up for school today?"
"Shit, I need to call her"
"Why?"

I pick Ro up because Ro and I are both bloody clingy people, ok, don't judge us, me especially because I was the adult here.

"Well it's because you're not well enough to go to school today Sweetheart"
"Daddy, do I have to take the medicine?"
"Yes Bambina, you have to take medicine when you're sick so that you can get better"
"But it's icky though Daddy"
"(Sighs), I know Darling, I know but it'll help you get better Baby girl, I promise, ok?"
"Ok, are you going to work today Daddy?"
"I've already gone to work today Princess"
"Really, but it's only morning Daddy"
"(Chuckles), I know it's morning time Sweetheart but I went to work while you were sleeping last night Baby"
"Oh okay, (yawns), Daddy I feel tired"
"You will do Darling, you're not well, right, we need to give you some calpol"

I went to the cupboard and got the Calpol, at least this time I didn't have Ro screaming her head off, then I got Ro to actually take the bloody Calpol.

"Daddy, can I go back to sleep now?"
"You can after you've eaten something Sweetheart"
"But I'm not hungry"
"I know you're not hungry Bambina, I know that but you need to eat something Baby"
"Why?"
"Because if you don't eat, you won't get better"
"I didn't know that Daddy"
"I know you didn't Baby"
"Daddy, can I have some eggy bread please?"
"Sure you can Darling"

You don't really need to be told about me cooking, unless it's how not to cook, all you need to know for now is that somehow I managed to not burn down my flat, so yay me.

Ro fell asleep not long after she had breakfast, so I lifted Ro to her bed and then I rang Jade, because I didn't want Jade to come here to pick Ro up unnecessarily, you know, especially since she would be going out of her way to school to do so.

"Hey, Jadey girl"
"Hey Teddy, what's up?"
"Well I wanted to let you know that Ro's sick, so she won't be going to school today"
"Oh, ok then, thanks for letting me know Teddy, send her my love will ya"
"Yeah I will Jadey girl"

So I hung up the phone on Jade and then I rang the school, because they should also know when your kid is sick and can't come in, you know.

"Hello, this is Greenbroke primary school, how can I help?"
"Hello, I'm ringing about Rowan Addams"
"Are you her father?"
"Yes I am, she won't be in school today because she's sick"
"Ok, thank you for letting us know"

I then hung up the phone because there wasn't anything else to say, well that and I'm shit with official phone calls, so after I hung up the phone, I went to bed for another hour, I know that sleeping on and off like that isn't good for you long term but I was tired as fuck.

When I woke up, I made myself a cup of coffee, because I needed to be awake if I was going to get any sort of sleep that night, Ro woke up 10 minutes later, still looking like she wasn't well.

"Hey Baby"
"Hey Daddy"
"Do you feel any better?"
"No, not really"
"Ok Sweetheart, (kisses forehead), do you want anything?"
"A cuddle?"
"I can do that"

So I picked Ro up and I sat on the couch, as it was easier on me.

"You're comfy Daddy"
"You think so Baby"
"Yeah, I know so"
"You know so, well then I'm glad that you're comfy there Bambina"
