Teddy PoV

Jack and I had been together for like 6 months at this point, I mean we had moved in together and everything, so we decided to have dinner with his family.

The closer we were getting to his parents house, the more nervous Jack seemed to get, which really worried me, because love and shit makes you a more emotional person.

"Hey, Babe, are you ok?"
"Yeah Ted, I'm fine"
"You seem nervous"
"(Sighs), I haven't seen my parents or my sister since before Soph was born, so I don't know how they're going to react"
"It'll be fine, if they invited you to dinner then they should pull their thumbs out of their fucking arses and tell you that they're not a bunch of fucking knobheads anymore"
"Ted, honey, you know sometimes you have such a way with words"
"(Laughs), what do you expect, I'm a fucking Addams baby"

Jack started laughing his head off, I was just glad that I could help him feel less nervous, I could tell that it was genuine laughter because his left dimple showed up.

When we actually got to the house, everything was going fine until Megan opened the front door.

"Hi Jack, Teddy"
"Meg"
"Am I missing something here, do you two know each other?"
"Jack, (clears throat), I didn't know your sister is Ro's mum"
"Shit, I didn't know that Megan was Ro's mum either"
"Oh I know, I kept it that way for a reason"
"Fucking hell Meg"

So we went inside and his parents were surprised to see me to say the least.

"Hi Mrs Grant"
"Oh Teddy, we didn't know that Megan invited you to dinner"
"Mum, Megan didn't invite Teddy, I did, Teddy's my boyfriend"
"Oh, uh, Harold, you're not going to believe who Jack's boyfriend is"
"Is he a famous fella?"
"No, he's not a famous fella, just get your bloody arse in here Harold!"

So Mr Grant came into the dining room, he saw me and not surprisingly, he was shocked to see me.

"Teddy, what a surprise to see you here, did Megan invite you"
"No Dad, I did, Teddy's my boyfriend"
"Oh, erm, how lovely"

We all sat at the table for dinner, since that seemed like the least destructive thing to do, which seemed to work for a while, but then everyone had finished eating their dinner so then everything started to go downhill fast.

"So Teddy, did Jack turn you?"
"Turn me to what exactly Mrs Grant?"
"(Whispers), did he turn you gay?"
"What the fuck?!, no!, no he didn't 'turn me gay', you can't turn someone gay, just like you can't turn someone straight, people are born that way!"
"So did you lead Megan on when you two were together?"
"No, definitely not, if you remember correctly she actually lead me on about keeping Rowan, so don't you dare try to place the blame for that on me!"

Jack looked really uncomfortable, I wanted to scream at them for not supporting their own child in a relationship that he's very clearly happy in, I couldn't even begin to understand why they would even invite him to dinner if they didn't fully support him.

We then went home, because I was not going to sit there and listen to the bullshit that was coming out of their mouths, everyone else was already in bed when we got back so we decided to get ready to go to bed ourselves.

I sat myself on Jack's lap so that I was facing him, I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck, because honestly he looked like he needed to be comforted and I'm not naturally good at comforting words.

"Hey Babe, what's wrong?"
"Handsome, it's nothing"
"Don't lie to me babe, I know when somethings up so spill"
"(Sighs), it's my fault that dinner was shit"
"No, it is not your fault that your family are a bunch of homophobic dickheads"
"But I brought you to an extremely hostile environment an-"
"Hey I'm a big boy, I can handle myself"
"But you shouldn't have had to, I'm sorry"
"Why the hell are you apologising babe, you don't have to apologise, if anybody should be apologising, it should be your family, they should be apologising to you especially Babes"
"They're not going to though Handsome"
"I know they won't babes, because they don't even believe that what said was wrong, but you don't need to apologise on their behalf, because I know that you will try to, ok?"
"Ok"

Jack fell asleep not long after that, but it looked like I wasn't going to sleep that night, I eventually did but it wasn't really that great, since it felt more like a nap then actual sleep.
