-there once was an angel
who took a broken boy
and pieced him back together
but in doing so
shattered himself-

"Are you okay?" Jaeden looked up, his tear-streaked face staring up into Wyatt's beautiful one. "I'm fine." He replied, nodding. Wyatt sighed and sat down next to Jaeden, not even caring about the cold brick wall or the freezing stone floor outside the house. "I know you're not, Jae-jae. Please talk to me." Jaeden didn't say another word and they sat in silence until Jaeden's mom called to tell him to get inside.

"Are you okay?" Had become a routine question, the answer always being "I'm fine." was also all part of it. "So what's wrong?" Wyatt asked, softly placing his hand on Jaeden's. "Right now, nothing is." They both smiled at each other. Once again, they sat in silence until Jaeden's mom called.

"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
"Maybe that'll be our forever." Wyatt said, bursting into laughter. Jaeden laughed too and Wyatt suddenly stopped, realizing that that was the first time he'd heard Jaeden laugh in quite some time. "No but I really am fine." They talked and talked until Jaeden had to go home.

"Are you okay?" Jaeden hadn't talked to Wyatt in months, only now that he saw him crying on the floor did he approach him, asking the question Wyatt had always asked. "I'm fine." Wyatt replied, not looking up from his hands. Jaeden nodded and walked away. "I know you're not, Jae-jae. Please talk to me." He turned around, feeling extremely guilty for neglecting the one that brought him happiness. But when he looked back, Wyatt was gone.
