"Logie? What's wrong?" Beth said walking down from the stairs as Valentino, Kasey, Grayson, Ethan, Will, Mia and I piled into Logan's house.
"Nothing Beth, go back to sleep" he answered.
Beth furrowed her eyebrows, holding a small teddy against her chest, as soon as she saw Mia she gasped running down the stairs and into Logan's arms, Logan lifted her up and she hugged him tightly.
"I'll call Vicky over" Kasey told us and she pulled out her phone and headed to the kitchen,
"I'm going to grab sheet so you don't bleed all over the couch" Ethan said to Mia and we went upstairs,
Will held Mia up by her waist and she had her arms wrapped around his shoulders, her head leaning against the crook of his neck.
I couldn't imagine the amount of pain she was in.
As Ethan came down with a clean sheet and spread it across the couch, Will helped Mia sit down and he sat next to her as she leaned into his shoulder for comfort.
"Do you mind putting her to sleep?" Logan asked me and I nodded as he handed Beth over to me,
I carried her up the stairs, into her room and placed her gently back on the bed.
"Who was that girl who had a boo boo?" Beth asked me in a shaky voice,
"That's Mia, my best friend," I told her,
My best friend who I persuaded to come to the carnival with me and now she's hurt.
"She's going to be okay though right?"
"Yes" I assured her but I felt as if I could use a little assuring too.
Beth nodded, "Goodnight Lexie" she said quietly,
"Goodnight Beth, sweet dreams" I told her, kissing her forehead gently as she snuggled into her blanket once again.
I left her room silently and going down to the living room where everyone sat, the television was on and everyone was staring at it intently.
"There were twenty one fatalities" a news reporter spoke as pictures of what had happened played on the screen,
Twenty-one.
Elliot had killed twenty-one people today.
A few minutes later Vicky came over, rushing over to Mia and not asking any questions, whatever was going between Noah and Logan was paused for the time being because of Elliot.
Mia looked over at me, her eyes full of unshed tears and I walked over to her, giving her an assuring smile.
Despite not having access to the special equipment they had stored in hospitals Vicky got to work straight away and attended to Mia's wound.
She told us that it was just a scrape, but the wound was still pretty deep and it required stitches.
Mia bit her fist, letting out a muffled scream. I had to look away from the blood that was around Mia's thigh and focused on the floor instead.
As I crouched down next to her she grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly, so hard that I thought she'd cut off my circulation or maybe even broken a bone.
When it was done Will had carried her upstairs into one of the spare bedrooms and one by on everyone went upstairs. Whether anyone would actually fall asleep after tonights events was another thing.
"Are you okay?" Logan asked me after he threw the sheet Mia was one in the laundry and took a seat next to me on the couch, spreading a blanket over our legs.
