"Let me drive"
"No"
"Your hands are shaking"
"No shit, Sherlock" Noah deadpanned as he continued driving to the hospital where Beth was.
What concerned me however was the fact that he was visibly shaking and so I offered to drive,
"Don't be stupid Noah, pull over before you kill us both"
"There's literally only five minutes left"
"I don't care- if you don't pull over right now I will kill you before the crash does"
He groaned but pulled over anyway.
We quickly got out and switched positions,
"You don't even have your license" Noah pointed out and I rolled my eyes,
"Has that ever stopped me before?"
"I don't care about you, what about my baby?"
"Baby?" I asked, glancing at him.
He was stroking the armrest lovingly,
"Thank you for your concern dear brother, you always have a way of making me feel appreciated"
He didn't reply, he just sighed loudly and held his head up with his hands.
"What's got you so worked up?" I asked,
"Well obviously the fact that our sister is in hospital and potentially-"
"I know that you dumbass, I just- you just seem more scared than worried",
He paused for a moment.
"Is there a difference?"
"Right now, yes there is",
"Alex, we don't have her medicine and there's no other cure... Even then the medicine only puts off the inevitable",
"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows and readjusted my grip on the steering wheel,
"There is no other option for her other than those pills she takes, it keeps her alive"
Now I was shaking.
I could hear my heart thumping in my ears as I readjusted my grip on the wheel again,
"S-so what do we do?" I asked Noah who was watching me carefully,
"I don't know," he muttered as I pulled up at the hospital.
After parking the car Noah and I rushed into the hospital, taking a quick trip to the reception that told us Beth was on the 3rd floor.
We took the stairs, which was quicker than the elevator and ran up to level three where we found Mia and Megan sitting together outside a room,
When they saw us the immediately rushed towards us, Megan wrapped her arms around Noah and hugged him tightly. Mia did the same to me, and then Megan hugged me while Mia hugged Noah.
"S-she's critical" Megan informed Noah who's eyes visibly widened, "But it's not like the last few times, it's worse"
"Fuck" Noah cursed under his breath; I knew when he started swearing he got angry.
"So what now?" I asked them and all three of them gave me blank stares.
They didn't know either.
I felt myself get more anxious by the second and a few moments later, a nurse came out of Beth's room. All eyes snapped towards her,
She wore blue scrubs like any other nurse and carried a clipboard with papers on them. She had dark brown, almost black hair that went a little past her shoulders, which contrasted with the brightest blue eyes I had seen in a while. She looked around Vicky's age.
