「 FRATERNIZING WITH THE ENEMY 」

25 | Honey

"Good riddance!" Mia called out the door after we said goodbye to Megan, Noah, Liam, Kyle and Dylan who were getting into their cars and driving off.

As soon as they all left and the door shut Mia turned to me and squealed,

"We have the house to ourselves!" she said excitedly,

"I know!" I said enthusiastically.

It was early in the morning and we were already ready for school. The football game was tonight and classes were cut short through the middle of the day.

We also had Monique's party tonight and without Noah and Megan that meant we could come home at whatever time we liked.

We headed to school but picked up Chase before we got there,

"You ready for today?" Mia asked Chase as he got into the backseat.

"As ready as I'll ever be" he replied.

When we got to school we said a quick goodbye to Chase and a hello to Logan, Will, Valentino, Grayson, Ethan and Kasey who we met up with in the hallway,

"I'm hungry" Valentino complained and Will smacked the back of his head,

"You just ate breakfast"

"But I'm hungry"

"Me too" Ethan piped up,

"Me three" Grayson said,

"I could eat" Kasey added,

"To the cafeteria!" Valentino said dramatically, walking off with Grayson, Ethan and Kasey trailing behind him.

Mia and I chuckled at them while Will and Logan looked annoyed.

"So how are you sugar?"

"I hate that nickname" Mia replied to Will, the sides of her mouth tugged upwards slightly.

"You know you love it" he said winking at her while they walked off down the hall.

"Mia loves the nickname, I can tell," I say to Logan as we began walking down as well,

"I think it's cute" he replied, suddenly he stopped and turned to me, "We should have our own nicknames for each other" he smirked,

"Oh no no no" I said shutting him down straight away and continuing walking,

"Why not?" he whined,

"Because I said so"

"But it's cute, honey!"

I froze and spun around to face him with my nose scrunched up in disgust, "Honey?"

"Honey" he repeated more sure of himself,

"Why honey?"

"Because remember when we first met and I tripped over you? You were holding a bottle of honey"

"You remember that?" I smiled slightly,

"Yeah" he said laughing awkwardly.

Silence passed over us as we continued walking until I stopped again, "I have a nickname for you" I told him,

"What is it?"

"Asshole"

"Down the field!"

"Over the line!"

"Come on Grove Hills!"

"One more time!"

We did cartwheels, handstands, flips and rolls, you name it - we did it.

Grove Hills was winning and that's all I could tell.

"Positions!" Monique called again and the cheerleaders, including me, groaned and got back into positions.

The crowd suddenly went wild and the majority of them were from our school, that meant that our team scored another point,

I looked back at the field and at Logan in number 9, he waved at me and I waved back.

Every time they scored Logan would look back at me and smile.

Mia who stood next to me elbowed my side, smiling widely at me and we grinned.

As the game went on Grove Hills was still in the lead and the opposing team looked like they'd given up,

We finished our cheer as soon as the crowd went wild. They were louder this time, probably meaning that the game was over.

I was proven right when the crowd ran onto the field to congratulate our team for winning, the opposing team walking off the field.

Mia grabbed my arm and led me towards a fence at the side of the field,

We hoisted ourselves up onto the fence and watched at the crowd was still cheering and congratulating the team. You could see everyone from here, the fence was high but not too high that if we fell we'd hurt ourselves.

After a while the cheers died down and two figures in football uniforms came running up to us, number 9 was one of them.

"Ew it's you" I said when Logan and Will stood from the ground while we sat up on the fence,

Mia jumped down to greet them while I still sat there,

"I'll meet you at the car" Mia called to me as Will and her walked off.

"Congratulations on the win" I told Logan,

"Thanks, now come down" he said to me grabbing my ankles,

"Nah I kinda like it up here"

"Suit yourself honey, the view's pretty great from down here anyway" I rolled my eyes at him,

"You're supposed to keep your dick in your pants not in your personality" I muttered as scooted to the edge and I prepared myself to jump down.

Just as I was about to let go my skirt got caught on a bit of the gate and it made me lose my balance,

I toppled over clumsily falling right on top of Logan who tried to catch me but instead softened my fall.

Perfect.

"Graceful" he chuckled at me as I we laid on the grass, chest to chest.

"Shut up" I grumbled, my cheeks were burning and I covered my hands over them to cool them down.

I dusted myself off and walked away from him, towards Mia's car,

"Hey wait up!" he called after me, jogging to match my pace.
