CHAPTER FIFTEEN
“Do you think she’ll like it?”
“For the hundredth time,” Daniel yelled, “Yes!”
I rubbed the back of my neck and looked at the plate of eggs and bacon.
“You sure?”
Daniel shook his head, “You’re hopeless.”
John nodded, “I second that.”
I huffed, “What if she doesn’t like it? What if it tastes bad and then she’ll hate me even more!”
I started pacing and panicking. Oh god, I cannot give her another reason to hate me! My wolf started growling at me to get my head out of the gutter but I couldn’t help but second guess myself.
“Blake!” John snapped, “It’s a nice thing to do! If anything you’ll give her a reason to like you!”
I halted and felt my insides filling with life. Like me?
I immediately started imagining what things would have been if she accepted me.
If she liked me.
“We can take things as slow as you want baby girl,” I smiled as I willed myself not to jump up and down. My wolf was taking off in a sprint as well as my heart.
She bit her lip and nodded, “Let’s do this.”
I gave her my brightest smile as she returned with her biggest one. I wrapped my arms around her spinning her. The best say of my life was made due to the best thing in my life.
“Blake,” Elissa giggled. I smiled bigger hearing her melodic giggle and the sound of my name coming off those big full pink lips.
I sighed and looked at my beautiful mate, “Yes?”
She smiled and trailed her hands up my neck where she wrapped her arms around them. My breathing quickened in pace as she leaned on her toes…
“Blake!”
I snapped my head to John and let out my biggest growl, “WHAT!”
John huffed while Daniel looked like he was trying hard not to laugh, “Just give her the food.”
I nodded and took a deep breath. I grabbed the plate and headed upstairs very slowly trying to relax myself.
Once I got to her door I sighed and willed all the courage I had left, “H-hey Elissa, I thought you’d like some breakfast s-so I made you some.”
Silence.
I sighed again and waited for an answer, “Just open the door so I can give you the food Elissa.”
I waited and waited for an answer but all I could hear was the sound of my heart beating erratically.
I frowned knowing that she probably just didn’t want to see me, “Okay I’ll just leave it on the floor then.”
I placed the plate on the floor so when she was ready to come out she’d be able to eat. I frowned once again, stuffed my hands into my pocket, and walked away.
I looked back at her door that was still closed.
Mate…
Every step I took felt like another part of my heart was breaking. Why can’t I just be with her?
Suddenly I heard the door open and I froze in my place. I gulped and slowly turned around.
Elissa was standing there by the door looking for the food on the floor.
My breath caught in my throat as I looked her over. She was always so beautiful. My shoulders slumped like the pathetic love-struck fool I am after seeing her.
She grabbed the plate and smiled before closing the door lightly.
Shit she smiled! Does that mean she was happy with what I did? Or that she’s warming up to me?
I didn’t know but after seeing my mate my wolf was back to life with hope radiating off of us.
Hope for us.
