CHAPTER 7
Elissa
After Blake and I had our little walk he promised to show me the music room. I trailed along jumping in excitement; I couldn't wait to touch a piano or play the violin again.
My smile was glued to my face and continued to get bigger as we stood in front of the door leading into the music room.
Blake found my excitement amusing and took the opportunity to tease me, "You ready?"
I nodded still jumping, "Open it."
He shook his head, "I don't think you're ready."
I shook my head, "No let me see it!" I pouted.
"Maybe," he trailed.
I kept smiling waiting for him to open the door. Blake stared at me for a while then got the key out from his pocket. I held my breath with every slow movement he was taking. He put the key in keyhole and slowly unlocked it.
"Open it Blake," I sighed biting my lip.
He chuckled then quickly opened it. I gasped at the huge soundproof room. Curtains were covering the walls to drown out any sound and instruments were from corner to corner. The room had built in stairs that made it look like there was a stage in it. I saw everything that was good in the world and I wanted to get playing now.
"It's like you have your own orchestra," I mumbled in admiration, "This is wonderful."
"I'm gl-"
"Look!" I yelled cutting off Blake. Blake chuckled but followed me to my favorite instrument.
"Oh wow," I awed as I looked at the violin, "I had my own violin before I moved here you know. It's a piece of crap compared to this one."
Blake laughed at me, "I'm sure it wasn't that bad."
I took the bow in my hands and quickly positioned it to playing position. I held the violin shoulder rest in between my cheek and shoulder.
"Is this in tune?" I asked Blake.
"In tune?"
I giggled and rolled my eyes at him and quickly tuned the violin. I closed my eyes feeling my stomach bubble with excitement. I started out slow and let my fingers move freely on the violin creating a familiar melody and started picking up my pace as the memory washed over me. I started to play a fast song watching my fingers dance quickly and expertly. My fingers and bow seemed to disappear I was moving so fast. The music that resonated was wonderful and it made my smile bigger than ever.
I looked at Blake who couldn't seem to close his mouth. He tried to follow my fingers and I chuckled at him before ending the song.
"Holy shit," he whispered, "You never told me you could play like that!"
I laughed, "Now where's the fun in that?"
Blake still looked like he was star struck, "H-how long have you been playing? Seriously you sounded like a professional!"
"For about thirteen years?" I tried to remember, "I started when I was five because one of my mothers was obsessed with it and I took an interest in it so she taught me."
Blake nodded, "What else can you do?"
I looked around and pointed to each instrument that I could play. By the time I was done Blake looked exhausted.
"You play all of that?" Blake confirmed. I nodded my head and he huffed, "Wow."
I sighed, "Yeah," I paused looking at the violin. I sat down next to Blake and played a little soft song and closed my eyes, "You know," I paused again while still playing and keeping my eyes closed. I could still feel Blake's burning gaze on me.
