CHAPTER 24
BLAKE
Okay everyone, it's time for a very important pack meeting. I want everyone here this afternoon to meet my mate Elissa.
Already I could feel every one of my pack members burst with excitement; their wolves howling at the thought of meeting their future Luna. I grimaced trying to conceal the fact that Elissa rejected me and that her title may or may not come to be. I didn't want to tell the pack; one of my goals for this packs was for everyone to thrive in happiness. If I told the pack this not only would my problems become theirs, which was completely unnecessary, but that means they would also be heartbroken.
Maybe once Elissa meets everyone she could feel closer to this family and maybe even begin to accept us...accept me.
Some things to keep in mind: She's human. Yes, she knows about us but she's still adjusting to the idea of werewolves. Also, she's adjusting to the idea that she's apart of this family now; which is something she never had. So everyone, be kind and respectful and I'll see you all at 12.
I finished the announcement and already heard Sarah squeal and run from Daniel's house, outside, and to inside my house. I rolled my eyes at her while Elissa, who still sat next to me, just laughed.
"I take it that Blake already announced it?" Elissa said giggling.
Sarah, who was still dressed in sweat pants and a long t-shirt from her sleep, started bouncing around.
"I can't wait for you meet everyone!"
Elissa smiled brightly and nodded, "Same."
I watched the exchange silently while thinking back to the conversation I had with Elissa. I smiled reminding myself that she felt the bond, this must be a step towards progress. This gives me hope that maybe since she knows that I feel something for her without feeling the bond that she'll give me a chance.
And she wants to meet the pack.
I agreed with my wolf; meeting the pack is just another step in the right direction.
I looked over at Elissa who was listening to Sarah gush over the details of my pack. My wolf purred; my wolf and I are very proud of the way we've lead the pack and we're proud with our pack in general.
I've lead by example not by force. I don't believe in beating wolves until they obey, that only promotes an unwillingness to participate. I also saw how my dad lead when he was Alpha; he was very good at being a friend and a teacher. The pack succeeded more when they had an Alpha that was understanding and strong; it made them mentally strong and encouraged them to, when need be, fight for this family.
In return they respected my father and now they respect me. Besides, it's easier to lead when people are willing to follow orders and not think you're just being a dick.
"So how many of you are there?" Elissa asked both Sarah and Blake.
I shrugged and looked at Sarah, "About a hundred or so?"
Sarah nodded, "Yeah maybe 120?"
I looked back and saw Elissa's eyes widen, "And you're in charge of all of them?"
I chuckled and nodded. Elissa whistled clearly impressed which made my wolf puff out his chest. I'd be lying if I said it didn't affect me in the same way.
"Hey," Sarah said grabbing Elissa's attention, "We should get ready before it starts."
Elissa looked at the clock from the stove and scoffed, "It's eight, the party doesn't start until twelve."
