"You're forgiven, papa." Adi nodded seriously. "I haven't apologized, okay!" Raman could not contain the amusement as he chuckled away.
He has not dreaded going to his bedroom ever, this way! Maybe Ishita has been cool or say, much soft downstairs, regarding the entire midnight water-attack, but in the vicinity of their bedroom, he was not certain. It should not have been a Sunday. Musing on excuses to avoid a long lecture, he stepped in to see her relaxing in the couch. Her eyes were closed, as she breathed serenely. It was better leave her be, but whom was he kidding! "You think you'll escape this, Raman? I need explanation. I know, but still. That was heights!" She stated without even opening her eyes. To his creased eyebrows, she mumbled, "I smelled your cologne."
"I was just...um, angry?" He trailed off incredulously, kneeling in front of her. "Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have poured water on Adi. I, I was just furious. I wasn't thinking like a father but a...lover, to be honest. It was my entire fault, Ishita, and I'm extremely sorry about it." In a breath, he could manage more but apology was not his thing to do, so far. Nonetheless, he managed well, and the heavy sigh that left his wife's calm chest was a sign, he is forgiven, somewhat. "You should be more mature, at least at times." Shaking her head, she picked up the magazine that she left on the couch last night. "I need to shift my things from the rented apartment. All my sarees are there!" She mumbled remembering how she walked in with a few of her clothes, right inside the guestroom that she shared with Shagun Arora!
"I thought she brought everything already!" He thought irately and looked at her gently. "Me and Adi will go bring them." He slurred to himself as he got up to leave. However, the look of hurt in her eyes halted him; cupping the side of her face, he narrowed his eyes lovingly. "What now?" His hand flew as she pushed it harshly away. "I don't still understand why you let her stay here. I don't want to talk about it. I don't know why I'm even thinking about it, when I myself was living with another man! What-ever!" Ranting nonstop, she went inside the bathroom, leaving a dumbfounded Raman behind. "What?" Aditya rolled his eyes as he kept a glass of lime juice on the tabletop as Raman looked on coldly. "What!? I don't bloody know!" He stretched his hands chuckling humorlessly.
"I think Ishima is having some kind of...mood swings?" Aditya thought aloud, making Raman choke on the drink. "You choked because it wasn't for you, but Ishima. Now you're going to make her go mad on you, again." He added before turning to leave. "You should have told me, Adi, and I'm sorry." Hearing his father's soft whisper of contrite, he scrunched his nose in distaste. "What was that for?" He looked on cautiously. "For last night's water-attack obviously. I'm sorry. I was just, sleep walking?" He questioned himself; there was no good reason. "Oh yes, and talking nonsense!" Aditya added. "Now, stop taunting, will you? We need to bring your Ishima's stuff from her apartment. Today's mission." Muttering, he walked ahead listening to Aditya rambling about the other apartment; how cozy it is except for the posh bedrooms. As if, he does not know that, pfft.
"This apartment is the best!" Aditya grinned looking around while Pihu started jumping on the couch. "What about buying this one, papa?" He asked randomly while Raman was brooding over what his son was telling from a while. This apartment is from where their journey begun all over again, as a couple, as a family. "If you want." He lagged while Aditya's smile widened. "Yes-yes-yes, please. We want." Pihu jumped on him as she wrapped her legs around his torso, clinging to him like a koala. "Whoa-wokay!" Raman snickered as he tossed her little body to Aditya before entering Ishita's old bedroom.
