Chapter 18: Sympathy

Matt POV
*flash back to the night of the clown attack*
Right after y/n left the tent , I turned my head to s/n. She was looking down smiling to her self. "Why are you smiling s/n?" I asked. "Because my sister is finally getting close to someone that isn't me." "Yea, the same goes with Near. He never really talked to anyone unless it was necessary, all of the time he would play with toys and solve puzzles." "I thought he hanged around you and Mello." "No, Mello always hated Near for being first and beating him at everything." "Oh, well now they are there for each other. I think they like each other. I feel like y/n has feeling towards Near, but just doesn't know what to do." "Me too, let's get some rest." I said laying down. "I love you Matt." "I love you too" "You will never leave me right?" "Never" "Promise?" "Promise" i said giving her one last kiss before falling into deep slumber. After a few hours s/n and I woke up to the sound of... a chainsaw? I heard a psychotic laughter which made us both scared. "Y-y/n" she whispered scared. After about 40 seconds later a guy in a clown costume dragged s/n and I out. I bit him so he dropped me but still dragged s/n by her hair "SO YOU TWO ARE TWINS ?! AHAHAHAH EVEN BETTER. IVE NEVER KILLED TWINS BEFORE!" "Y-you killed my s-Sister?" s/n said crying. 'Does that mean y/n and Near are dead?' I thought. I had to save s/n so I ran and kicked the dude in the di** but I miserably failed. The clown caught my leg with s/n in the other hand and made me fall. After I fell he got a knife out aiming it towards her heart and said "I ONLY WANTED YOUR SISTER BECAUSE SHE IS RARE AND WILL BE WORTH A LOT, NOT TO MENTION SHE WILL MAKE A PERFECT TOY. So you know what that means? I DONT NEED YOU!" He said and stabbed her making her scream loudly and die instantly. While I was just froze in fear on the ground, watching the person I loved get killed right in front of me. He began dragging her behind a tree for a unknown reason. Then he turned to me "You're next" I got up ad ran , but as I turned around the others were already getting on the bus leaving me behind so I ran as fast as I could still crying the most I have ever cried in my life. The clown was following us but not for long. On our way, everyone was silent. But I still couldn't get my mind off her, my poor s/n.
*End of flashback *
Ever since we got back I have locked myself in my room playing video games the entire time without eating. 'I couldn't save her. It's my fault' I thought still crying. I kept hearing knocks on my door which I knew was Mello. He kept knocking on my door every hour,but I still wouldn't open.

        Nears POV
They let us in and everyone was staring at us in shock probably thinking we were dead. We ignored the stares and walked straight to Roger's office. 'They left without us not knowing the chances of us being alive. We also warned them about what we saw, but did they listen? No'
We were both mad and went right in the office without knocking. Roger was reading a news article and said "Yes? You kids need manners. Going in without permission is-*puts down news paper* *gasps* YOU TWO ARE STILL ALIVE?!" "Yes"we both said "B-but how?!" "I kil-" I interrupted y/n and said "We ran away while you and the others were getting on the bus without knowing we were still alive."  " I a-am truly deeply sorry. What can I do to make it up to you?"he said. "Where's Matt?" y/n asked. "In his room, why?" 
She looked down and quickly got out without saying something. Leaving me alone with Roger. "What happened to her? Why is she like that?" "Her sister got murdered when nobody was there since you and the others were too busy escaping leaving her to die." I said and ran out following y/n.

        Your POV
I ran to his room and saw Mello sitting right outside his door eating chocolate. He turned around and saw me and ran towards me."H-hey y/n, listen i just wanted to say that I'm sorry for what happened. Also, Matt won't come out of his room. I tried but it wouldn't work." I simply nodded and went to his door. I knocked but no answer. I knocked again and said "Matt, open this door" it seemed he recognized my voice and opened the door a little bit. He looked awful. His eyes were red from crying too much, he looked tired, hungry , sad , depressed. "Y/n, i-im sorry. I COULDNT DO ANYTHING!" He yelled as tears rolled down his cheeks. I opened the door and stood in front. "It's okay, she loved you a lot, s/n wouldn't like seeing you like this." I grabbed his hands making him look up at me. "I'm so sorry"he said. "I wasn't there either, so you're not the only one." I dragged him out of his room walking down the stairs to go eat something. The moment we entered, everyone started whispering to each other things like "I feel so bad for them, especially Matt since they were together." "Yea me too but I don't feel too bad for y/a since she doesn't have feelings." "She really must not care about her sister. You can tell by looking at her emotionless face." "She's cruel,emotionless, depressed freak. I bet she will always be like that." E/m smirked at these comments and got up , walking to me. "I feel so sorry for what happened to you. So that's why I decided to do a party for you! But first... I got you food!" she said and threw cereal at my face, getting milk and cereal in my hair, face, and clothing. "Oopsies! I slipped" e/n said and took a photo of me. I looked around the room and noticed the others were laughing and taking photos of me. I ran out, going outside. Once again I felt tears on my cheeks.
Near POV
'How could she do that!' I thought angry at what I just witnessed. I turned to find e/m taking a picture of her. Y/n ran out and I saw a drink with ice on it. I got an idea. While e/m was too busy laughing I got the ice and put it inside her shirt and poured the drink inside her shirt as well. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH. WHAT THE FU** IS WRONG WITH YOU! BIT**!" I ran away quickly,got a towel, and tried to find y/n. 'Where are you y/n?'
I looked down and followed the drops on the floor leading me outside.

Was this too depressing? Well, it'll get better in the next chapter ;)
Near: This is depressing
Mello: No shit Sherlock
Me: Tch, I just said it will get better
Levi: It's not like that. You have to do it right. Like this... TCH
Everyone: TCH!!!!
