Chapter 12- New People Means New Enemies
Elaine's POV
"So then I was all like, 'Dude, you can't try something like that and say 'no homo', 'cause that was totally 100% homo', and then he flipped out, right?"
"Uh huh," I mutter, pretending to listen to Luke as my mind was bombarded with questions.
Who the hell was Smith texting? He didn't look that frustrated or cocky, so it couldn't have been anyone from his family...
"He got all close, like real close. Then he looked me in the eye, like right up in my pupil, and growls like a fucking werewolf in one of those Wattpad books. Seriously, I thought he was going to rip the rest of his clothes off and run into the woods." Luke laughs out.
"No way," I mutter, hoping my random words fit with whatever he was ranting about.
And why the hell did Alec just wait to be picked up at the convenient store? Wasn't he terrified of the 'killer middle-class peasants' or something like that?
"Right?! Okay, so that's when I realize that it's getting dark out and mom's going to come home soon, so I tell him that 'it's been fun, but I need to get home.' Which, for whatever reason, really pissed him off."
I hummed and nodded as a sign for him to continue.
Who was picking him up, anyway? He looked too happy for it to be anyone I've ever seen him with...
"So this guy starts complaining about how 'he kidnapped me' and 'I'm his prisoner' and that I 'should be freaking out more'. He looked ready to kill at this point, so I couldn't just tell him to chill, right? He said something along the lines of, 'I can't believe Killer is taking so long with the damn car. So then I'm like- Wait, Elaine, are you even listening?"
"Yup," I mutter, chewing on my nails as I thought of the frustrating asshole.
What the hell is he doing right now?
"Oh, okay. So, I told him that kidnapping was illegal and that I'd go to the cops. Which, apparently, was the wrong thing to say. He held the knife he was holding close to my face and said, 'It's only illegal if the cops find out, but there won't be any evidence when we're done with you'. Then, like we are in some sort of action film, this car comes speeding through the forest parks right in front of us. My kidnapper's all like, 'Get in the car or I'll just kill you right now'. I'm gonna be honest, I thought I was going to die, I really did. There was no way I was getting into that sticky ass car, like, I could smell its nastiness from three feet away. So, I was preparing to get stabbed by this guy in really deep denial about his sexuality, but then this dog- Elaine? Are you really listening or just pretending to?"
"I can't believe my ears right now."
Why do I even care what Smith is doing? It's not like he's my actual boyfriend or anything...
Luke sighed, "It was at that moment when aliens descended from the sky and enslaved the human race. Jequan McLastyname, a low-paid babysitter, decides it's his job to take down the aliens, but the aliens saw it coming."
"No way."
What is he hiding?!
"Way. So, the alien's kidnapped Jequan, you know, like what happened to a certain friend of yours over the weekend."
"Cool."
Why haven't I seen Smith yet? I was expecting to see him pick me up in a blonde wig or something else dramatic, but Luke was there as usual.
