"Yeah, so luckily he was so caught up in watching the actual play that he forgot about the essay until the class was over. One for Skylar – zero, detention."
Quil chuckled. "You know, ninety nine percent of your problems would probably be solved if you actually tried at school."
Skylar groaned loudly, leaning her head back to rest on Embry's shoulder. "But its senior year, and I have been diagnosed with a serious case of senioritis. I can't try too hard or it will end up hurting me."
A flash went off, making Skylar blink over at the source. Jacob was holding her new camera in one hand. "Bella texted me to take some pictures with this thing, so blame her."
"You probably shouldn't dig through my bag, man. I think I forgot about a sandwich in there from like a week ago," Skylar smirked.
Quil's face scrunched up in disgust. "I thought that was Embry."
"Ha," Embry sneered, but let the smile linger on his face.
The four of them were lounging around in Jake's garage. While he was spread out on the floor working on his car, Quil was seated up high on the storage cabinet while Skylar and Embry sat together on the beat up couch lingering on the side on the room.
"So, finally eighteen, huh? What's the plan now?" Quil asked.
Skylar shrugged. "I think Charlie would just be happy if I graduated. After that, I'm not really sure. Might try and get a job at the hospital or something."
"Sky, you feel dizzy at the sight of blood," Jacob deadpanned. "How the hell is that going to work?"
She pursed her lips at the boy. "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
"Oh god, you know Star Wars. We should just elope now," Embry said, his chest slightly shaking with laughter.
"I'm down. Vegas is only a couple of hours away," Skylar said.
Jacob turned his head to stare at her, throwing his hands up in the air when she shot him a glare back. "Christ, Skylar. It like a day away, and that's if traffic isn't bad."
"With my driving, we could make it down there in a couple of hours."
Quil shook his head and dusted off his pants as he stood up. "I have to go, though. I promised Mom that I would be home earlier tonight." The remaining trio chorused their goodbyes, leaving a comfortable silence hanging in the air.
Skylar hummed, casting a smirk towards Jake's direction. "Soooo, Jacob. When are you gonna get the guts to tell Bella how you really feel about her?"
Jacob tried his hardest, he really did, but couldn't stop the blush that flushed his cheeks. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"C'mon, man! Anybody with a pair of eyes could see that," Embry shot back.
Huffing, Jacob nodded. "Well, since we're on the subject Em, why don't you tell how you really feel about your crush?"
"You like somebody?" Skylar exclaimed, eyes widening.
The ground was suddenly very interesting to look at for Embry.
"Yeah," Jacob taunted. "Why don't you just come out already and tell her the truth?"
He shook his head, still staring hard below. "I... She wouldn't like me back anyways. Why ruin what we already have?"
"Well, she's an idiot," Skylar said, nudging him with her shoulder.
Embry gave his best attempt at a smirk, but didn't look up at the two. Skylar saw Jacob about to reply, but stopped when she shook her head. Clearly it was something that he didn't want to talk about and Skylar wasn't going to force him.
