Chapter II - False Feelings

"What is going on?!" Mizore yelled as the seven ran through the cave.

"I don't know! We have to get to Rin." Axel said as everyone made a sharp turn around a corner.

"They're coming!" Mai yelled from behind as the soldiers followed the group into Rin's area.

"Freeze!" One of the soldiers announced as they all pointed their guns at the group.

"What now?" Mizore asked in fear as everyone put their hands up.

"Good evening, Conscript and friends..." The leader said as he gestured for the soldiers to put their guns down.

"What do you want?" Axel asked angrily, stepping forward and clenching his fist.

"Oh as if it isn't obvious..." The leader said while pointing to Rin.

"She'd make a nice decor item at the base." The Exodus member laughed.

"You won't take her!" Mizore yelled.

The soldiers aimed their guns at the group and prepared to fire.

"It'll be like taking candy from a baby." The leader said.

At that moment, Mizore pulled out tiny ninja stars from her bra and threw them at the soldiers, barely scratching the armor.

"Did you actually think that would work?" The leader laughed as the Exodus member walked up to him and whispered in his ear.

"Oh? I suppose this is too easy... Plan B men and women! We're gonna play a little game first." The leader said as he allowed the soldiers to fall back.

"Do your thing, sir." The leader whispered to the Exodus member as he walked away.

Vincent and Taurus both summoned their swords.

"I'll make this short and sweet." The member said as he cast a dark aura around Axel.

Axel jumped back and out of the aura to avoid getting swallowed by it.

The darkness spread and became a vortex, eventually catching up to and sucking Axel in.

"No Axel!" Vincent yelled as he and Mizore tried pulling him out.

"Now why would they leave me alone? Oh right." The member said as small goblin-like demons spawned from little dark shadows in the ground.

Taurus and Mai took offense in trying to defeat the hoards of demons while Vincent and Mizore tried helping Axel out of the sinking vortex in the ground, pulling Axel in.

Ashton and Panthena helped in fighting off the demons but targeted the Exodus member more.

Rosalia parked the car in the forest and ran as quickly as possible to the cave with tears running down her face. She was soaked from the rain and her makeup was ruined.

In the distance, she noticed a petite aircraft fly away which the leader was driving.

As Rosalia entered the cave, a strike of lightning briefly illuminated the sky, and soon faded away, as more rain fell.

Axel sank to his chest, slowly gasping for air.

Mizore looked into Axel's eyes, as they were both crying.

"Vincent try to cast it," Mizore demanded.

"Mizore I cant, I'm not strong enough!" Vincent responded as he tried pulling Axel up.

"Just try it!" Mizore screamed in anger. The tears fell from her face and onto Axel.

It was awkward, but it meant a lot in the sense of losing a friend.
