today, is the first day of school. private school. also known as the school that my sister's 'girlfriend' selena, is the head master.

"i want you to have a great day, baby girl. stay out of trouble! i love you." demi said as she pulled up to school dropping me off.

"i love you too, demi." i said. i slowly, but surely walked into school. after stepping foot in the doors, selena came over to me.

"hi, gabi. did demi drop you off?" she asked. i nodded. you know, you think she wouldn't talk about this whole relationship thing at school.

"is it weird for me to talk to you in school because of demi and i? i mean we kind of have to create a bond, but if it's weird i just won't talk to you unless i have to." she said.

i shook my head, "no, you're fine. plus, if you're going to be with my sister, i'll need to have a strong relationship with you too, just to ensure you won't break her heart." i said.

"well, you think i'm going to break her heart?" she asked. she was kind of hurt. the bell decided to ring.

"i never can tell anymore." i said walking off to class as she waved me goodbye. i hope that everything goes well in class.

i walked into my first period history class, and just like any public school there were many different groups.

there were the populars, the gamers, the 'nerds', the journalists, and all kinds of different people.

it wasn't as diverse as i thought.

i'm like the only mexican in the room. where are all my hispanos at? i looked around and took the last open seat.

"class. we're going to begin. first, i'd like to address our new student over there in the back corner." she said pointing to me.

i waved to the class. everyone began to talk, wave, and smile back to me. it seems as if this school is going to be great.

"she's not that important. focus." she snapped. everyone's face filled with fear.

she looked at me. "gabriela, i know that you're new here, but you should've learned something at your old school. what certificate could be purchased from the church for the forgiveness of sins?" she said smiling at me and crossing my arms.

shit, i don't know.

"what exactly did you learn last year? if, anything at all?" the teacher said. well, isn't this a bi-

"well, actually, my sister is famous, and we've been on the road a lot. in the past few months my oldest sister committed suicide and jumped off of a cliff so i've taken time off of school for that." i said. everyone was looking at me with sympathy.

"i did not know that. my apologies, but this should've been taught to you. indulgences is the correct answer." she said nodding at me.

she moved slightly around the room.

"ashley, can you tell me what indulgences are?" the teacher asked. i've got to know this lady's name.

"yes. indulgences are a part of the roman catholic church and served as a grant by the pope-" ashley began. she talks way too much, and i don't have the time to listen.

after what seemed like an hour later, she finally stopped talking. "gabriela, can you please summarize what ashley just said?" the teacher asked.

i groaned.

"basically, rich people could buy their way out of going to hell." i said blankly making the class laugh.
