Mei woke up in a room and looked around her. Her hands were tied behind her back and there was a rope around her ankles too. The guard that had knocked her out brought Ah ro in and removed a sack from her head too. Ah ro was also tied at her wrists and ankles. Both girls were very scared, Mei was used to being in dangerous situations but she had never been kidnapped before and it was worse since Mei was sure that the culprit was the queen.
As if to read the her thought the queen came into the room and stared at them. Ah ro and Mei got onto their knees and bowed to the queen.
"Your highness " they greeted.
"What did the two of you see? " the queen asked them. Mei wasn't prepared to answer truthfully, if only she could signal to Ah ro as well. They must not admit to seeing the kings face, the queen would not spare anyone who saw the kings face.
"Did you see the kings face?" she asked. Mei bit her lip.
"If master Ji dwi is the king then yes we have seen the kings face" Ah ro answered. Mei's eyes widened, why did she have to say "we" ? They were surely dead.
"Your highness, I found this on Master Lee's son" the guard said. Mei watched in horror as he gave the emperors letter to the queen.
She took it and then knelt in front of Ah ro "I know that you are master Ahn ji's daughter " the queen said.
