I wake up at 2 a.m. because it's hot and my throat is dry. I see that Son Hyun Woo is not in the room, probably went to the washroom. I put my slippers on and pad across the room to the door. I head down to the kitchen. I turn the light on and head for the fridge, where I grab a bottle of water. As I'm drinking, I notice that the bruise is now full-fledged. Aish. I decide to make an ice pack for my wound. I hear footsteps entering the kitchen. I know it's Son Hyun Woo.
"What the heck are you doing" Son Hyun Woo asks. I ignore him. He gets closer and sees the ice pack on the counter.
"What's that for?" Son Hyun Woo inquires.
"None of your business." I say. I see his eyes flash to my wrist and when they do, they go wide. I hide my wrist behind my back.
"D-did i -do t-that?" Son Hyun Woo stutters. I don't say anything
"Let me see." Son Hyun Woo demands.
"I'm going back to bed." I say.
"Let me see.....please." Son Hyun Woo asks, gently. I'm truly shocked by his tone. I've never heard him use that tone before. The combination of sleepiness and shock cause me to stick my wrist out towards him. He holds it and stares at the bruise. He runs his thumb across it. I try to pull my wrist back, but he holds it firmly. He takes the ice pack off the counter and presess it against my wrist. I flinch at the coldness. When he finishes, he does something every unexpected, he pats me on the top of my head.
"Jeongmal mianhae." Son Hyun Woo says. His hand is still on my head as he says this. Then we just kinda stare at each other. I clear my throat and pull away. Son Hyun Woo starts coughing.
"I'm going back to bed." I say, as I awkwardly back away.
"Yeah." Son Hyun Woo says. We don't make eye contact. I run back upstairs to the room and hide under the covers. What the heck just happened? Why is my heart beating so fast?
Morning
Last night's incident was so awkward. I need to forget that it ever happened. I step out of the bathroom and head back to the room. I'm so caught up in my thoughts that I forget to knock on the door. I open the door and freeze. Son. Hyun. Woo. Is. Shirtless.
"Yah!" Son Hyun Woo yells. I close the door. Great, now I have two things that I need to erase from my memory.
"My eyes!" I yell.
"What's wrong with you?" Unnie asks. The door to our room flies open and Son Hyun Woo comes storming out.
"You better not tell anyone...." Son Hyun Woo says, trailing off when he sees Unnie. Unnie looks between Son Hyun Woo and I.
"Why is everyone just standing here?" Son Yoon Hee asks.
"Something's up with those two." Unnie says, nodding toward Son Hyun Woo and I.
"What's that smell?" Yoon Hee asks, sniffing the air. We all start sniffing.
"Smells like fish oil." Unnie says.
"Where is it coming from?" I ask. Yoon Hee sniffs Son Hyun Woo and immediately pulls back.
"It's you!" Yoon Hee shrieks. The three of us back away from him. He sniffs himself.
"What the heck?" Son Hyun Woo says.
"Breakfast is ready!" Ms. Oh calls. We all head downstairs.
"What smells like that?" Mr. Son asks.
"Hyun Woo." Yoon Hee says. Everyone starts fanning their nose. I'm enjoying this. I said I would get my revenge and I did, by putting fish oil in Son Hyun Woo's body wash. I try my hardest not to smile or laugh. This is gonna be so good.
