Part 65

The next day

I'm so stressed, I'm sure I'll have grey hair by graduation. It's lunch now and my friends and I are sitting at our usual table.

"What happened to Shownu?" Jooheon asks.

"Yeah, he's not talking to us." Minhyuk adds. I don't want to hurt their feelings by telling them what he said.

"He's busy these days." I lie.

"Too busy to eat lunch with us?" I.M asks. I shrug.

"I thought you two were fighting?" Sa Rang asks.

"His teenage hormones are raging,I guess." I lie, again.

"Jae Eun, may I have a word with you?" Miss. Park asks. I look at her and then back at my friends.

"Sure." I say. We exit the cafeteria and head down the hall.

"I have some bad news." Miss. Park says.

"What happended?" I ask.

"Lee Jin Soo's parents bailed him out of jail." Miss. Park says, sadly.

"What?!" I ask, shocked. This can't be, Jin Soo can't be out of jail.

"His trial is set for the end of the month." Miss. Park says. This is crazy.

Later

I got a text from Nam So Young asking me to meet her in the playground.I spot her on the swing, so I approach her.

"Why did you call me here?"I ask.

"Because we need to talk." She states. I roll my eyes.

"Get to the point." I say. She stops swinging and looks at me.

"Do you hate Shownu?" So Young asks.

"What? Is this what you called me here for?" I ask.

"You shouldn't hate him." So Young says. I roll my eyes.

"I'm going home. Thanks for wasting my time." I say.

"Shownu really cares about you." So Young says. She gets off the swing and stands in front of me.

"You shouldn't hate him, he cares about you." She says.

"Then why would he be a jerk to me?" I ask.

"He's protecting you." She states. I raise my eyebrow.

"I don't understand why you're telling me this. You're his girlfriend, why aren't you mad." I inquire. She looks around and takes a step closer to me.

"He made a deal with Yong Nam." So Yong says. "Shownu would join Yong Nam, if he left you alone. Shownu and I being in a realtionship was part of the plan to get you to stay away from him." She explains. I look at her shocked.

"But why are you telling me this?" I question.

"Everything he told you yesterday was a lie. Even though he didn't choose me, I still want him to be happy. It seems that he's the most happy when he's with you, so please don't break his heart." So Young says. I nod.

"You must also have a reason for joining Yong Nam." I say.

"Get revenge on Lee Jin Soo." She states.

"You should be careful." I say. She looks at me surprised.

"How can you still be nice to me, even after everything I did to you?" So Young asks.

"Just because you did those things, it doesn't mean I want any harm to come your way." I say.

"I think I know why Shownu likes you so much." She says.
