I think about yesterday's events. There's so much circumstantial evidence, but no actual physical evidence to tie Jin Soo to Yu Na's murder. I don't think the body is at that house though. Why would he hide all the evidence in one place?
"Earth to Jae Eun." Mi Na says, waving her hand in front of my face.
"Huh?" I say, coming back to reality.
"You still mad at us?" Sa Rang asks. I open my math textbook.
"If you were in my shoes, wouldn't you be mad too?" I question. They look at each other. Mi Na places a carton of strawberry milk on my desk and Sa Rang places my favourite coconut cream bread. I look at the milk and bread, thinking.
"You think you can win me over with food?" I ask. Sa Rang and Mi Na nervously look at each other.
"We'll treat you to BBQ." Sa Rang says.
"Only BBQ?" I ask.
"And sushi." Sa Rang adds.
"I don't know." I say.
"And bubble tea." Mi Na says.
"You're forgiven." I say, smiling.
"I told you this would work." Mi Na says as Sa Rang rolls her eyes.
"All seniors, please go to the gym for an assembly." A teacher says over the PA system.
"I wonder what this is about." Sa Rang says. Mi Na and I shrug. All the seniors head to the gym. Mi Na, Sa Rang and I sit together. Someone suddenly kicks my chair, please don't be Jin Soo. I slowly turn around and am met with a smiling Hyun Woo.
"Did I scare you?" He asks. I roll my eyes.
"What's scary about you? You're like like a giant teddy bear." I tease.
"Ya! I don't look like a teddy bear." Hyun Woo says defensively.
"You kinda do." Hyungwon says, laughing as he high fives me.
"Everyone be quiet!" Mr. Shin yells into the mic, causing feedback. What's this guy's problem? Seriously, I've never seen him smile before.
"As you all know, the senior trip was cancelled due to the food fight that occurred. However, upon further thought, I've decided the trip is back on. You'll be going to Lotte World." Mr. Shin says. The gym erupts into cheers and clapping. I do feel bad knowing that I can't go, but as long as everyone else can, I'm happy.
"We're gonna have so much fun!" Mi Na says ,happily.
"We'll never forget it." Sa Rang says, throwing her arms around Mi Na and I. How am I gonna tell them?
After School
I get home from school, exhausted. I plop down on the sofa and turn the TV on. I wonder why Jin Soo didn't show up at school. It's definitely not because he got arrested, that would be amazing though. My phone rings, bringing me back to reality. I look at my phone and realise that the ringing is coming from somewhere else. I get up and head to kitchen. On the table under today's news paper is mom's phone. I answer.
"Hello?" I ask.
"You've won tickets for a cruise." The caller says. I roll my eyes and hang up, another scammer. I should go give mom her phone. I change out of my uniform and into a grey hoodie and black leggings. I decide to ride my bike because the weather is nice. She must've been in rush this morning for her to forget her phone. I see students on my ride and it makes me miss the times when I was just a student. My only worry was to do well and get into a good university. But this isn't about me, it's about getting justice for Min Jun and Yu Na. Before I realise it, I've arrived at the nail salon. I park my bike and head inside. I stop in my tracks. Some rich- looking ahjumma is yelling at mom. Everyone in the salon is watching.
