"You're engaged!" Mi Na and Sa Rang yell at me when I walk into class. Everyone looks at me.
"What? What are you talking about?" I ask, confused. Mi Na hands me her phone and I look at the screen. It's a picture from yesterday when Yong Guk was pranking me. He's down on one knee with the ring box.
"This is not what it looks like." I say.
"Why do you have a ring on?" Sa Rang asks. I sigh.
"It's a couple ring." I say. They both look relieved.
"Is it, is it really?" An annoying voice asks. Everyone turns to look at Lee Jin Soo. Not him again.
"What do you want?" Sa Rang asks, annoyed. Jin Soo comes in to the class and stands at the front.
"I have a video that says other wise." Jin Soo says. He motions for everyone to gather around him, so we do. A video of Yong Guk fake proposing plays and everyone watches in shock.
"See, she is engaged." Jin Soo says, when the video ends. People begin to whisper.
"Are you a stalker?" I ask. Jin Soo shakes his head.
"Nah, I was just in the neighborhood. ." Jin Soo says, smirking.
"You're so pathetic. Get a life." I say. Jin Soo's eye twitches.
"How could you do this to me?" Jin Soo says, suddenly. I raise my eyebrow at him.
"What are talking about?" I question.
"How could you leave me for someone like him?" Jin Soo asks, a fake tear rolls down his cheek. The whispering continues.
"I never dated you." I say, in defense. Mi Na and Sa Rang look at me confused.
"It's time to tell the truth." Jin Soo says. He turns to the class.
"Song Jae Eun and I have been dating since she was dating Son Hyun Woo." Jin Soo lies. Everyone gasps.
"Shut up with your nonsense." Mi Na says. He ignores her and continues.
"It seems that Song Jae Eun was also dating her new fiancé." Jin Soo lies.
"That's not true!" I say.
"We believe Jae Eun." Jo Sun Mi says. Everyone nods in agreement.
"But the rest of the school doesn't." Jin Soo says. Oh no.
Everyone is giving me dirty looks and whispering about me. I can't believe that people actually bought Lee Jin Soo's lie.
"Ewww. Song Jae Eun is so desperate." Some girls say as I walk past them.
"Pathetic." A boy says. I think I can make it two more weeks. Two more weeks and I'll be free. I walk to the cafeteria to meet my friends. Thankfully, there's no line so I quickly grab my food and make my way over to my friends.My friends wave at me. Someone suddenly pushes me down, causing my food to fall.
"Eat it." A voice says. I look up and see Lee Jin Soo.
"Leave her alone!" I.M. yells across the cafeteria.
"You're a dog, so you can eat like one." Jin Soo says. I.M and Wonho suddenly grab Lee Jin Soo. I scramble up and exit the cafeteria. As I exit, people throw kimchi at me. Tears stream down my cheeks.
"Jae Eun-ah!" Mi Na and Sa Rang yell after me. I crush into someone when I exit the cafeteria.
"Mianhae." I say, looking down. Tears continue to stream down my face.
"Who did this?" The person asks. I look up at Hyun Woo in shock.
"Hyun Woo." I say. He studies my face and then his face travels down to my uniform, which is stained with kimchi.
"Who did this?" Hyun Woo asks again.
"Lee Jin Soo." I say. His hands curl into fists at his side.
"He's so dead." Hyun Woo says. I grab his arm, causing his to look at me.
"Don't." I say.
"Why?" He asks.
"That's what Lee Jin Soo wants. He wants to get you in trouble." I say. Hyun Woo raises his eyebrow at me.
"We only have two more weeks. We just have to get through it." I say. Just two more weeks.
After school
My phone buzzes, it's a text from Yong Guk. He can't pick me up from school today because he has to help at the restaurant .I text him back saying that it's fine. I look around for Lee Jin Soo. He's become more violent and aggressive. A hand suddenly lands on my shoulder.
"Ahhhhh!" I scream. I turn around ready to punch Lee Jin Soo, but it turns out it's not Lee Jin Soo.
"Ya, Son Hyun Woo, you scared me!" I yell.
"Mianhae. What are you doing?" He says.
"Nothing." I lie.
"You were looking for Lee Jin Soo." Hyun Woo states. I don't say anything.
"Come on, let's go home." Hyun Woo says. We walk to the bus stop in silence.
"Where's Nam So Young?" I casually ask.
"I told her not to come today." Hyun Woo states.
"How come?" I ask.
"Just cause." He says. The bus pulls up and we get in. We sit down together. I look at the window and think about life. My life has become so chaotic and dramatic, it's as though someone is writing my life. Like this is fiction.
"Jae Eun." Hyun Woo says. I look over at him.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Can we be friends?" He asks. I raise my eyebrow at him.
"What? Why?" I ask,confused.
"Even though we didn't work out as a couple, that doesn't mean we can't be friends." Hyun Woo explains.
"Don't you hate me?"I ask.
"I could never hate you." Hyun Woo says.
"Then why were you so mean to me before?" I ask.
"Mianhae. I shouldn't have said those things to you. I was just really hurt." Hyun Woo says.
"I'll think about it." I say. Hyun Woo puts his head on my shoulder.
"I'm not moving my head until you accept." He says. I roll my eyes.
"Son. Hyun . Woo." I say.
"Not gonna work." He says.
"Ugh, fine." I say. He lifts his head up and smiles at me. I haven't seen that smile in a while and honestly, I've missed it. Both of our phone chime at the same time. We look at each other and then at our phones. We look at each other shocked.
