All apes living in our tribe gathered around the center as Caesar stood in the middle with Cornelius while I was forced (by a certain ape) to sit beside Nova and Maurice to regain my strength.

Strength my ape ass, I'm more robust than he thinks!

"He is just doing his job as a mate Kira" Maurice signed once he noticed my moody expression.

"We are not mates...yet" I winced when I signed that. Maurice looked confused "what's stopping you?" I shrugged.

"I guess I'm nervous and scared about this whole ordeal I mean, I just started to get use to this and now another threat just had to come and..."

I sighed and slumped. Nova patted my back in comfort. I smiled at her and turned to look at Caesar's lean figure.

Caesar divided our tribe into groups. One would take care of the kids while the other groups would be on the lookout for the wild humans as they call it.

"If what Cornelius said is true then why isn't Nova going through what those humans are experiencing"

When Caesar called Maurice up, I turned to Nova "Nova, what do you think of what Cornelius said"

Nova bit her lip "I think the humans out there are being experimented on"

Now I grew curious "explain..."

"Before I was orphaned, I saw some people who were like me, with the simian virus but had a stable mind. They were being experimented on until they became...unstable"

I wanted to ask more but when I noticed her terrified expression, I knew better than to ask further.

"Apes Together Strong!" I heard Caesar scream out loud and the apes chorused out all the while connecting their fists together.

I grinned and did the same all the while screaming out the statement. Caesar turned and grinned at me and I smirked back.

Maurice was kind enough to lend us a spare alcove in his home. Caesar lay beside me on our temporary moss bed.

"You alright?" He asked and I gave him a puzzled look. He pointed at my wounds and I smiled.

"When are you gonna believe that I am more robust than you think"
